Faye's squeal made Peter laugh. He'd known she'd be pleased at his using the 'g' word, but he'd never imagined she'd be that pleased. She must know that by actually calling her his girlfriend he was setting her apart. Peter had never called anyone his girlfriend, not even some of the more serious girls he'd dated. Often he'd call them 'his girl' or his 'special friend', but 'girlfriend' was a word he'd never used. Partially because a girlfriend was so permanent. So....finally. Peter didn't like to make people a staple part of his life. He hadn't had much luck with people staying around. But he doubted that Faye would just abandon him. In fact, he knew that Faye would never, just as he would never dream of abandoning her. Though he clenched his jaw as she described her shopping escapades. Now she was just taunting him. "Oh you truly are evil, Faye Tinker. Withholding such information from me. However, I would like to see the outfits you bought. I bet you look stunning in them."
Peter sighed. Adorable and Peter Newman just didn't seem in the same sentence, he thought. But he didn't argue with her. He knew better than to push certain things, and this was one thing he knew Faye would never ease up on. Of course, she was much more attractive than he. While he had boyish looks, Faye was a beautiful young woman. Were it not for his height, Peter was certain people would think him much younger than he was. However, he forgot about it as he pulled away. He could kiss Faye all day, he was sure of it. He grinned widely at her words. "You have such a way with words...uhm...and I do not. So ditto all that for me. Only replace my name with yours. Romantic, yeah?"
Peter sighed at her recoil. He didn't know if she'd understood it, but guessed she did. It wasn't a big deal to him, her words had cured him of his foul reaction to the word quick enough. But he knew that she was probably chastising herself for it. Faye was hard on herself sometimes, and it was one of the only things he disliked about her. She could simply forget something and be all over herself for it. Peter kissed her forehead gently, his assurance to her that it was alright. He smiled at her eagerness. "Of course we can go now! I'd love that, actually. The more time with you, the better."

His laughter at her squeal made her smile big. He obviously didn't realize how much her delight at the girlfriend thing. Especially considering he NEVER used that word. Ever. Not with any of his exes. Not even the few serious ones. Somehow, she'd always thought Peter found the word girlfriend to be like death. But obviously, she was special enough to actually be called this special nickname. His jaw clench made her giggle. She was teasing him. "Evil? Me? Psh. No way. I bought them for you, sort of. Hoping that the whole kissing you thing would end up like this, I bought some skirts, and some stuff that shows off how cute I am. And make everyone jealous that you're dating me." The blonde giggled again.
His sigh. "Don't you sigh, Peter. No sighing. You are adorable. End of story." The tiny girl rolled her eyes. At least he didn't try to argue. His boyish looks were adorable. He was cute, adorable, gorgeous...any word that described attractivity described Peter. He eventually pulled away, and the girl let out a dreamy sigh, wishing that he could kiss her all day. Poor Peter didn't have a way with words at all. But that was okay. "Very romantic. You swept me off my feet, Peter."
He must've noticed her recoil, because he sighed. Faye frowned, chewing at her bottom lip. Why was she so...so stupid? She was constantly doing stupid things and never seemed to learn from them. Wasn't that why mistakes happened? Because you learned from them and learned how to not be stupid? Her thoughts changed as Peter kissed her forehead. All better, it seemed. "Of course we can go now! I'd love that, actually. The more time with you, the better." The blonde jumped up and down with joy. "Yay! Let's go, then! I'm yours for the rest of the day." She grabbed Peter's hand, urging him to lead her where he wanted to go.

Peter couldn't help but smile as Faye giggled, though he did roll his eyes. Why she enjoyed teasing him so much, he'd never know. Not that he minded, for he loved teasing her, too. And he had to admit, she was rather adorable when she had that look on her face. The look that told him she was messing around. The look that had so many times before reassured him of their friendship. A look that he found now made him want to kiss her. "You are a little bit evil, but lucky for you I happen to like that in a girl. Skirts, huh? I do love it when you wear skirts. But regardless of what you're wearing, I'm pretty sure boys are gonna be lining up to kick my ass for being the lucky guy you call 'boyfriend', sweetheart," Peter said with a grin. Though he was mostly kidding, he wondered if his fellow classmates would seriously fight him for Faye. It wouldn't surprise him. He would certainly fight for her.
As Faye chastised him for sighing, Peter smirked. He knew she would assure him that he was cute, so he didn't say anything, but he rolled his eyes again to signal that he didn't agree. He was pleased with her dreamy sigh, keeping her close and running a hand through her hair affectionately. He laughed at her sarcastic reply, though appreciated the effort she made to make him feel more romantic. The truth was, Peter was actually quite the romantic. His plans for Faye's birthday present, for instance, were quite romantic. He just didn't show it often, instead showing his playful side so people found it hard to believe that Peter had a soft spot for romance. He even enjoyed romantic comedies a little bit. "I tend to do that to girls. Sweep them off their feet, I mean. I'm just so poetic."
Peter smiled and laced his fingers through Faye's, happily starting off toward his dorm where he'd dropped all of his trunks off. He knew he had a tent in there somewhere. He liked to keep one on hand, for he never knew what he'd need. He had a little of everything in his trunks, honestly. Peter's adventures took him many places and he never knew what he would need. He squeezed Faye's hand gently as they walked, smiling at all the people who watched them pass. It was as if the whole school were affected by their being together. And perhaps it was. As friends, he and Faye were incredible, he couldn't even imagine how they would be as a couple. He looked forward to finding out, however. "Mine for the rest of the day...that's the best welcome home present I've ever received. Only welcome home present, actually. And I'm sure you didn't mean it as one. But I'll accept it as the best nonetheless."
