Peter felt more relaxed with Faye in his arms. His arms fit around her perfectly, and it was as if the mold of her body fit perfectly against him. As he rested his head against hers, Peter grinned. Suddenly he was more excited for this camping trip than he had been before. A night with Faye, the girl he loved, one sleeping bag, and a night of snuggling. Suddenly he was reminded of his horrible dating streak and his stomach dropped. There was no way he and Faye would break up after a week, right? They had history. This wasn't just a fling, and Peter knew that. He wasn't sure what exactly it was, but he knew that it was more serious than that. "I'm stronger now, remember? I could break you," Peter threatened jokingly, holding her tighter.
Peter couldn't help grinning. It seemed Faye was staring at him too, and he enjoyed that more than they should've. He suddenly became insecure, though. His nose was too big, his hair a mess, he looked like he's just woken up, his smile was crooked...oh god, he was a mess. He reached up to tidy his hair, hoping that this would salvage any good thoughts Faye had about him. He knew he was being ridiculous, but not it mattered more than ever to him what Faye thought. She was the only opinion that mattered. The only opinion he even wanted to bother hearing. And hearing her opinion on Woody caused him to grin widely. "You could always flirt with me, ya know."
Initiating a kiss with Faye was even better. Knowing that she knew he liked her and knowing she liked him back caused his heart to pound in his chest until he was sure Faye could feel it, but he didn't care. Her lips were soft and inviting and -- hey. Why was she pulling away so soon? He opened his eyes and chuckled as she leaned against him. This was how it should've been for years. Peter sincerely wished he'd have realized his feelings for her long ago, when they started forming. As Faye brought up her feelings, Peter gaped at her. "You...you've liked me this whole time? And I'm just now finding out?" Peter inquired. He was unable to hold in a laugh. It was a laugh of both relief and triumph. Out of all the boys Faye could have, she chose him. "Faye I think I might...well I love you."

She felt like she fit perfectly into Peter's body shape. Just standing there, hugging him, feeling him holding onto her, it made things seem better. Safer. He rested his head on hers and she smiled, thinking about the future they now had. Besides, they would last forever. More than a week, because...well, they were a perfect fit. Like two missing puzzle pieces. It just worked, and Faye would make it work if she had to. "Would you really break your girlfriend?" She asked, using that fateful word, giggling as his grip tightened.
His hair...his perfect, messy...damnit. The boy touched it. She sighed, only to realize how insecure he had to feel. "You look fine." She reasurred, only to think about herself. She hadn't bothered with make-up, and she now regretted it. Her hair probably was a mess, her tan must've looked uneven, she was so...ugh. Why did she have to care so much? She only wanted to look good for Peter, who would probably love her no matter what. The blonde smiled when he spoke. "And now I will. But...I still can hang out with Woody, right? We're only friends, Peter. There's only one guy who's got my heart." She smiled up at him. Her heartbeat was quick, like a drum, pounding constantly in a fast tempo. She looked up and watched him open his eyes, chuckling. He gaped when she confessed her feelings. "I was scared. Really scared. And nervous...and...and...and a lot of other feelings." She nodded, until his luaghter brought her back. "Faye I think I might...well I love you." Faye gasped, staring up at him. Love. Love love love love love. He loved her! "I love you too. I always have, and I always will." She snuggled into him, feeling like three years of worry finally left her shoulders.

Peter smiled as he let his lips kiss the top of her head more than once. "Mm, you smell nice," he chuckled. That was an understatement of course. She smelled fantastic. Like summer, really, and the thought made him ache for the entire summer he'd lost with her. He knew that tonight he would probably mention how he'd cried over her absence. Faye would like that, she liked when she was the cause of things. Though he was secretly thrilled that she'd cried over him, he vowed that she would never again have to shed a tear over him. He'd been right earlier; Faye was too pretty to cry. At the word 'girlfriend' Peter grinned widely. "I guess I wouldn't be a very good boyfriend if I broke you, would I?" he asked, laughing as well and finally releasing Faye.
As Faye assured Peter that he looked fine, he smiled, thankful that she could tell what he was thinking. But of course she could tell. They were best friends, after all. Or maybe soul mates was a more appropriate term. Of course Faye looked great, she always did. She needn't bother with make-up, she was naturally beautiful. She glowed with the tan of a summer well spent and her hair was tousled and fell down her shoulders. Peter took a mental image, wanting to keep this moment in his memory. "You look gorgeous, Faye," he said with a smile. He was glad he could tell her how beautiful she really was and have her know that, yes, there was an ulterior message behind his compliment. His message? Simply that he loved her. Peter laughed as she tried to convince him her relationship with Woody was platonic. "Of course you can hang out with him! I don't know if you remember what kind of boyfriend I am, god knows I haven't had a relationship in forever, but I'm not controlling. As long as I know you're mine at the end of the day, I have no problem with male friends."
Peter shook his head, still in shock. Three years she'd liked him, and she'd managed to keep in a secret. "Geez...you can't keep my secrets a secret for five minutes, but you manage to keep yours for three years? That's ridiculous. And horribly unfair," he chuckled. He smiled as she gasped, knowing he'd surprised her. That was his favorite thing to do, surprise people, and surprising Faye at this particular moment provided him with great joy. As she snuggled up to him, he smiled, breathing in deeply and letting her relax into him. "I always have and always will.""Those are probably the most beautiful words I've ever heard."

All this kissing was fantastic. He kissed the top of her head again, and she smiled as he told her she smelled nice. "What do I smell like? Sun tan lotion and strawberries?" The blonde giggled. She'd sit outside all day, just to perfect her tan. Her skin was a light brown, better than it had been the first few days of break, and she would be sad to see it disappear. But that would mean summer was really over. Being here with Peter did signal that too, but now she wouldn't spend her nights missing him and her other friends. Or crying, which she never liked to do. It made her eyes puffy and her cheeks blotchy and red, and she wasn't that pretty when she cried. So when she wanted to cry, it was usually alone, unless in a random circumstance, like breaking a bone. "A very good boyfriend," He said boyfriend! Boyfriend! She giggled when he released her, and stood, facing him as she thought. "Not particularly, but I'd still love you none the less." Her laughter continued after that.
Peter didn't need to feel insecure. Faye seemed to feel that for the both of them. More for herself than him. Peter didn't need to do a thing. He was perfect. While she was...well, not. Maybe they were best friends, soul mates, boyfriend and girlfriend, whatever...she still wanted to impress him. Make him proud to call her his. Her mind returned to reality when she heard him call her gorgeous. "Gorgeous? You, sir, are really, really sweet. Thank you." She hugged his waist and smiled, a little disappointed that she was so tiny. But his laugh made it all okay. It made everything okay. Peter? Controlling? No way. She was more than he was. "I'm the controlling one. Sorry if that gets annoying. By the way, if any girls flirt with you, tell me, cause they're getting a rat in their bed." She nodded, half-joking half-serious. "As long as I know you're mine at the end of the day," She blushed at this point. "I'm always yours, Peter."
His shock wasn't surprising. She'd excepted him to be shocked by the number. Three whole years of hiding. But she giggled anyway. "This was one secret I had to keep. It's not ridiculous OR unfair! You're just mad." Faye stuck out her tongue and giggled again. His reaction to her surprise, well, it was cute. His smile was cute. It was perfect. She loved it, and just wanted Peter to smile forever. The blonde felt his chest move as he breathed, and she smiled, closing her eyes for a second. "Those are probably the most beautiful words I've ever heard." She looked up. "Well look at me. I'm a hopeless romantic." Faye giggled and snuggled into Peter once again.

Peter smiled as she guess what she smelled like. "I guess those things are combined...you smell like summer, which reminds me that we have a whole summer to catch up on, love. We'd best get on that." Peter couldn't wait to hear about Faye's summer, hoping it had been a good one. It certainly looked like she'd had a good summer. Her skin was evenly tanned, her hair turned brighter with highlights from the sun and it looked good on her. Every inch of her seemed to glow, and he radiated in the warmth she produced, her smile causing him to smile. He was particularly glad they'd gotten past the awkward use of 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend'. Of course he should've know with Faye it would be natural. Everything was so natural between them. Her giggle made him laugh, and he reached out to grab her hands, as he had before. Though this time there was so much more meaning behind it as he laced his fingers through hers. "I would feel horrible if I broke you, though. Not to mention I don't think your parents would like it very much."
Peter smiled as he watched Faye, glad that she hadn't worn any make-up. She looked stunning when she did, but he preferred her natural beauty. It was astounding to him that she hardly had to do anything to impress him. Just by standing in the sunlight he was captivated by her. One laugh and she could melt him into blissful oblivion. He was pleased that she thought he was sweet, smiling and shrugging slightly. "As I've said, I'm just being honest, Faye. You're very welcome, though." It was true. Faye was a little obsessive and she got jealous easy, but Peter never minded. Even before they'd become this glorious couple, she'd glared daggers at any girl who even approached Peter. He smiled, knowing she thought he didn't notice, but he always did. Before it was entertaining, but now he just found it endearing. "It'll never get annoying. It just means you really love me. And trust me, you'll be the first to know if anyone dares flirt with me," he laughed. As she reassured him that she was his he blushed, squeezing her hands gently. "And I'm always yours, Faye."
Peter shook his head slightly, still a little shocked that she'd kept this from him so long. Honestly, he was a little hurt but he wouldn't let her know that. He didn't want her to feel bad for being scared to tell him. Honestly, had he realized his love for her earlier, he probably would've been afraid as well. But he still wished that she'd been comfortable enough to tell him sooner. He smiled and stuck his tongue back out at her. "Well...nyeh. No more secrets, yeah?" He adored how giddy Faye was. With every laugh he smiled and as she burrowed her way closer to him, he smiled and when she deemed herself a hopeless romantic, he laughed. "Who would've thunk it...Faye Tinker a hopeless romantic. I guess I learn something new about you every day."

Catching up on a whole summer? "Well, yeah. We better." Peter's summer, from the bits he'd told her over their many calls and texts, sounded terrible. While he came back looking gorgeous as ever, apparently, it was awful and all the people there were bat-shit crazy, and it smelled really awful. She'd felt bad for Peter. Besides excessive tanning, Faye talked for hours with her friends from J. Cricket, went shopping with her father's money, surfed the web, and watched excessive amounts of television and movies, including a few American things she'd found online. Including a lot of romantic stuff, which she hoped would help her when, or if, she and Peter started dating. The whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing went seamlessly, which wasn't surprising to Faye. Her thoughts shifted as soon as he grabbed her hands, lacing their fingers together. "Yeah, my parents probably wouldn't be happy. But, anyway. You won't break me. So that settles that." She smiled.
Faye just watched Peter. His eyes were on her, and he smiled, which meant only good things. His smile lit up his face like a Christmas tree. And that made Faye smile. It was like a domino effect. An adorable domino effect. And he was honest. "Honest or not, you're still sweet." She nodded. It was true that she got possesive and jealous, and had an unusual dislike for almost all girls (aside from Meg, her only girl friend), but it was part of her. Faye'd always been like that. And Peter knew his. She'd get jealous and angry, and eventually put something in their beds or shampoo, usually making sure it was green, her signature color, to make it obvious who it was from and why. And yet, stupid girls still flung themselves at Peter, unaware of the consequences. "Aw. Good! I better be." She giggled as he squeezed her hands. "And I'm always yours, Faye." He said the words, well, a few of many words, she'd been waiting to hear him say. He was hers. All hers and no one else's. "All mine, huh?" She joked with a giggle and a toothy smile.
Three years was long. She didn't tell Peter that she was afraid he'd reject her. That was her biggest fear, and she never told him that. She didn't want him to reject her, and make everything awkward. She wanted to keep their friendship strong, and not wreck it. But then again, she hadn't wrecked it by kissing him a few minutes ago. She stuck her tongue out more and made a face at Peter. "No more secrets, I promise." She nodded, smiling still. Hopeless romantic wasn't exactly it, but it was kinda close. She was a sucker for romance. And he laughed. Of course he did. "Well, you got a two for one special. You found out I've liked you since freshman year, and as a bonus, that I'm a hopeless romantic. Lucky you." She made an attempt to exaggerate a wink, and burst into laughter again.

"Well you know that my summer sucked," Peter sighed. It was true, it wasn't his ideal summer. He didn't like to work, and that was a majority of being at the ranch. "They woke me up at five in the fucking morning. Five! Is that not the craziest thing you've ever heard? I mean, usually I'm settling into bed at five," he sighed, running a hand through his hair. At least Faye would understand his strife. Everyone else he'd told had brushed it off as if he hadn't been a big deal. But to Peter it had. They were asking him to go against everything he stood for, and that just wasn't okay with him. "But what did you do all summer? Buy anything particularly special with your dad's money?"he asked with a smirk. He knew that Faye's parents adored her and basically gave her everything she wanted. He envied for her that mostly, wishing that he had someone to care about him like that.
Peter began bouncing up and down, suddenly getting restless again. He'd never been tested, but he was almost positive he had ADHD or something. While he was able to pay attention to Faye, his body had the urge to run around. He kept it contained to his bouncing, though. As he blushed again, he laughed. "Gee, Faye, I don't think I've ever blushed this much in my life, and yet my first twenty minutes back and I'm blushing like crazy. I must look like an idiot," he chuckled. He felt as though he looked like an idiot most of the time, though. He wasn't even sure why girls liked him. Perhaps his sense of adventure was what attracted them. But then why would none of his relationships last? He shook his head, deciding not to let his mind worry about it. He hated feeling insecure. As she offered up a grin he'd never seen before, he waggled his eyebrows, pulling her closer. "All yours," he repeated, winking.
Peter laughed heartily with Faye, doubling over and resting his hands on knees. "Oh Faye. I don't think you realize how good it is to be home with you again. I didn't laugh all summer. Well, maybe when they found the snakes. But I didn't hardly talk to them, much less laugh with them. It was quite tragic," Peter said with a sad nod, jutting out his lower lip. It was hard for people to imagine him over the summer, serious and solemn. It was hard for him to believe that he'd been as serious as we was too. He was usually so bubbly and ready to go, always exploring. But he'd had no desire to explore the ranch, not when it was the cause of so much hatred of his. He shook the memories from his mind, making a mental note to block them out later.

Five in the morning. Faye mock-gasped, putting her hands on her cheeks Home Alone style. "The horror!" She cried with a smile, trying her hardest not to laugh. It was only funny because this was totally un-Peter. The getting up at five in the morning thing. She got up on tip toe and patted Peter's shoulder in a comforting manner. "My poor Peter. How dare they make you get up at such ridiculous hours." His assumptions about her summer made her frown, jutting out her lower lip. "Psh....yes. Maybe. It's a surprise." She smiled and winked, hoping to hold the boy's attention. He wanted to tease her about her present? Two could play that game. He'd begun bouncing, and she joined in, raising her brow simply out of curiousity. Faye felt the blood rush through her body once again, getting her adrenaline pumping again. And soon enough, Peter was blushing and Faye stopped bouncing. "First of all, this is all part of my master plan, and second, you do not look like an idiot." Peter had a cute blush. Faye loved to see the red color his cheeks, contrasting against his pale skin. But she loved him, pale or not. Taking a hand she squeezed it, smiling. Suddenly, she was the one blushing at his new found grin and eyebrow waggle. She let his hand go as he pulled her closer. "All yours," He winked and Faye giggled like a little girl. "And I'm all yours."
Faye loved Peter's laugh. Hearty and genuine. "You were without laughter, me, and a decent night's sleep all summer? You are a deprived boy." She nodded, smiling. "That needs to be fixed asap. I'll have to make sure you get all of that soon. Or you may...well, something bad'll happen, probably." The idea of Peter not laughing for an entire summer scared her. Serious Peter wasn't all that fun. Unless he was serious about her. That'd be perfectly okay. She looked up at him and sighed. "Alright. So, this camping trip thingy. Let's do it. Or get ready or whatever." The blonde nodded, the thought of one sleeping bag to share with her boyfriend getting better and better.

Peter rolled his eyes at her mock horror, though he smiled. Though she mocked him, Peter knew that Faye understood. Getting up early, doing work, going to bed at a decent hour...they weren't Peter's thing, and Faye got that about him. As she patted his shoulder, he chuckled. "Yes, yes. Poor me. It really is a miracle I managed to make it through the summer. By all means, I should be dead now. Dead from a broken heart. See, not only did I have to go against everything I, Peter Panning Newman, believe in, but I was also torn away from my best friend slash girlfriend. What a horrible life I lead," Peter fake sobbed, enjoying the opportunity to call Faye his girlfriend again. His false tears were stopped, though, as she brought up what she'd bought. Surprise? Peter hated surprises, didn't have the patience for them. And he had a feeling that this surprise had something to do with him. "Fayee...tell me what you bought! Is it something I'll like? Or something I won't like? Is it for me? Am I freaking out about this for nothing?"
Peter raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her words. "Mast plan, huh? Master plan for what? Making me look like a fool?he asked, rolling his eyes. He was more curious than he let on, though. Was Faye just being cryptic, or did she really have a master plan? And if she did have a master plan, what was the desired outcome? Gah, he couldn't believe that being with Faye was making him go so crazy. A good crazy, of course, the best crazy he'd ever experienced, but crazy nonetheless. There was so much involved in being in love, Peter made a mental note to make a list of things he'd need to remember or take into account later. For now he would just take it all in stride, letting Faye take care of the technical stuff. As she giggled, he smiled slightly, the tension easing from his shoulders. He leaned forward and kissed her lips for a moment. All his. "I like the sound of that. A lot, actually."
Peter jutted out his lower lip, pouting as he nodded in agreement with Faye. It had been a long, hard, summer. At the word deprived, however, he cringed slightly. He hated that word. Often people in the orphanage would label him as deprived. No mother, no idea who his father may be, no family at all to speak of...but Peter never felt deprived. In fact, he felt rather lucky. He had his friends at school, Faye, Grant, Alice, Cassie and everyone else he considered close. He also had no one to annoy him or pick on him, or tell him what to do. He was his own master, and that was the way he preferred it. He was torn from his thought as Faye brought up the camping trip. The thought made him smile again. "Oh yes, yes. The camping trip. I know where I can get a tent if you can get the sleeping-bag. I'll get snacks, blankets, you could wrangle up some flashlights...and we could either start the trip now, or do something else and then just camp tonight. Maybe lay out under the stars for a bit. All that romantic stuff," Peter suggested with a grin. Tonight would be a good first night back, he was sure of it.

Peter's eye roll meant nothing. He knew Faye understood him. Work, early, decent bedtime...it didn't make sense for Peter, and Faye, and that was why they really understood each other. Poor, poor Peter. How he survived was a miracle. It must've been the texts and phone calls that kept him running, as it did her. Or magic. Either option made sense. Dead? No, no dead Peter. Nope. "my best friend slash girlfriend." The blonde squealed in delight at this bit, being called the 'girlfriend' again. Girlfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend. His fake sobs made her giggle. Peter was just adorable, too adorable really. "Fayee...tell me what you bought! Is it something I'll like? Or something I won't like? Is it for me? Am I freaking out about this for nothing?" He was impatient. It was clear from his words and tone. "Well, I got new clothes you'll like. I'll probably get in trouble for wearing them, but whatever. And, I might've gotten your birthday present." She teased.
"No. My master plan to make you look adorable, obviously." Faye rolled her eyes. Peter was cute. He really had no idea, did he? He'd had relationships, and Faye had too. While she felt more experienced, she wasn't sure. Each time had just been practice for Peter. Now it was the real thing, and she was nervous and in love and scared. As long as Peter was for the ride, Faye hoped that she could take over smoothly. His kiss was nice. Short and sweet. She giggled. All his, all hers. "I like the sound of that. A lot, actually." "Oh really? Hm. Well, I belong to Peter Panning Newman. My waist is his to hold, my lips, cheeks, and forehead are his to kiss, my body is his to hold, and my heart belongs to him. You like that too?"
She just wanted to kiss his lip until that pout went away. His cringed made her recoil slightly, afraid she'd done something wrong. What'd she done? Faye felt her heart beat quicken, and took a few breaths to calm herself down. Was it deprived? Shit. She was so stupid. The blonde internally cursed herself, wanting to smack herself for being so stupid. Was she really not thinking? Her mind was so focused on this camping trip and Peter, obviously she wasn't. "I can get the sleeping bag. I want to start it nowww. Please? I wanna start now." She snuggled up to him, smiling. How could he say no to that face?
