PERSONALITY: Kovu is a mixture of traits; he’s headstrong and arrogant around people he doesn’t know because he feels like he has to be, but around his friends he’s pretty relaxed and laidback, never one to stick his head out unless the situation calls for it. In general he’s fiercely protective of Kiara and his friends. Kovu is not a natural leader; he likes to follow and only risk his neck when he has to, making him somewhat of a joke amongst his friends. His father was never a leader either he often argues, but that shouldn’t make him the same kind of follower he is today. Kovu is also terrified of not being accepted or crumbling into peer pressure – the kind of friends that continuously push you past your comfortable limits and into their world. That was what he was trying to escape at home with his parents constantly telling him to be better and to be like his father and blah blah blah. Here at J. Cricket Academy, Kovu can be his own person, which is a lot more than he ever was at home.

BRIEF HISTORY: Kovu often thinks his birth was because of rape.
Why? His mother doesn’t “know” who his father is, and only ever refers to the man as well... a man. Viciously hating him for reasons unknown, this has led to Kovu to believe that she was raped, and hence he was born. He is a step sibling to his step-father’s kids obviously, and doesn’t care for them. He was raised in Toronto Canada, where a lot of things went down. Because he had to look after the step-siblings he never really grew up to be his own person. He was forced to listen to his mother’s and father’s constant bickering over what he was supposed to be and over the fact that he wasn’t his step-father’s own child, it really put a stress on Kovu’s shoulders. They fought about his name, too. Kovu. Why was he named that? Could he be named Kevin or Kyle or ...?
Kovu – who was almost thirteen at this time – started to rebel against his parents and generally stopped being their free babysitter. He had a life, dammit! He went out with friends until late, always the second or third in command. He was cold and slightly heartless to others, and was always wondering if love would ever find him. Then again, he was only thirteen – who needed love!? When he turned thirteen, his family received a letter to J. Cricket Academy. Kovu was sent off in an instant, because lets face it – his parents didn’t want him around if he was of no use to them. In his first year he met Kiara Nevaro, the pretty blonde in his “house”. She was gorgeous, but his fears of not being enough for anyone quickly diminished the fact that she would ever look at him. Well, they became friends, and Kovu’s crush on Kiara developed into a general liking, and his fierce protectiveness over her is easy to see. He doesn’t like it when she’s with other guys and often makes himself known.
Anyways. Now in his last year of school, Kovu really wants to make this memorable. He’s doing well in class as well as in sports and he often makes jokes that Kiara should be a cheerleader so they could be the perfect couple.
