I cannot believe you've got me writing in a blog, Max. I could just send an email to you, you know. It's not likely that I'm going to forget that I'm writing essentially to you and Papa and therefore be more honest or something. Whatever it is you're hoping to accomplish by setting me up with this thing. Freak. I hate you.

Okay, I don't. Whatever.

Uhm. The glorious life of a Kostine student... Well, I'm certainly not in Mississippi any more, that's for sure. Damn, I never thought I'd be self-conscious over my Southern accent... Other than some slight homeland-shame and butt-loads of home-sickness, there's really not much to report, bro. I'm doing tons of work but I like it. You know I've always liked doin' work... Aside from the English essays, that is. Jeez, I hate English...

Missing you, Maxie. So much. You and Papa. I miss the shop, too, and workin' on cars and everything... Oh well, I'm just feeling sorry for myself, I guess. Everything really is fine and great, I promise. I like it here lots. Just caught me at a weird time, I guess.

All right, lemme sign off here before I give you the wrong impression or something. School is fantastic, no new friends, no new boy friends [insert eye-roll here], still looking for my new favorite teacher... Hopefully there'll be more interesting entries down the line. And maybe I'll even start seeing this is a blog and not just another means of communication to you and Papa. Speaking of, how in the hell do you plan on teaching Jason Kendrick to maneuver the internet to read this on his own? =]

Jesus tap-dancing Christ. A ball. There's a ball and I'm going. A masquerade ball, in fact. I don't really know why I'm going except that maybe something interesting might happen.

I'm gonna have to wear a dress. I can't remember the last time I wore a dress. No, wait, yes I can. It was for Easter quite a few years ago. Like, nine years ago in fact. And I got it all muddy from playing soccer with the cousins and then Papa shrugged and laughed said that I probably wasn't fit for anything but dungarees.

And I'll be wearing a dress.

Well, I only have one thing to say: I will definitely not be wearing heels. Flats all the way. Converse, even, if I can swing it. There's no way I'll be making an even bigger fool of myself by tripping and falling down the stairs and, like, dying in front of everyone. No thanks.

Oh god, a ball.
