Eloise was very thankful for the quietness of the world today. She wasn't much in the mood to listening to the drama that was already buzzing around the castle. Eloise didn't like drama, she thought that it was all very stupid, but she knew that she contributed to much of it. What was she to do? Stand around and let people walk on her? No. She knew that if she wanted people to get the message that she wasn't there to be trampled on, she would have to teach them a lesson. While everyone was saying "fighting fire with fire makes a bigger fire," Eloise laughed. Eventually somebody's going to give up and it would never be Ellie. Still, for somebody who was often in the middle of things, even she thought it was too soon for the princesses to become damsels in distress and the villians to make their presence known. In order to make the school really begin to twitch, you had to wait for the opportune moment. That wasn't today, and it hadn't come yet. So naturally, with all of these students thinking that the school was ripe enough for a situation to arise, Eloise got annoyed. Eloise being annoyed wasn't simply her rolling her eyes; that was only the first stage. Eloise being annoyed for a number of days (which it had been since drama first began) meant that she was going to start expressing it. What better way than the best way Eloise knew how? For once that didn't mean revenge. It meant music. It seemed that the knights in shining armour had taken their rescue outdoors and the needy princesses had decided to do the same (or hide out in a tower, whichever seemed more comfortable). Ellie didn't mind the stillness. She had been looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it seemed some of the Atrox students had made a point of enjoying the company to be found in Ellie's suite. Grabbing her guitar like she was on a mission, she made her escape to the music room. And then there was quiet. She unlatched her guitar case and removed her notebook and pen. She placed that on the little table that she had moved from the corner to the center of the room. The she moved the piano bench beside the table, and lifted her acoustic guitar on to her lap. She didn't have much to form lyrics from yet, she just began strumming some chords and finding some new strumming patterns. With her annoyance on high, she seemed too annoyed to come up with words. However, the more she played, the less annoyed she became and was soon able to put a few words together. It wasn't much because she didn't have anybody in mind to direct it to. That was part of what Eloise needed to play her music; she needed somebody in mind that she was singing to. She didn't know who had started the drama or what it was even about, she just knew that it had started. No doubt a tiff within the Regius house, maybe the Deliciae, over who's "prince" was whose. Stupid. Ellie then began to sing. If she had really wanted to, she would've written the lyrics down, but she was listening to herself and was fully aware that she wasn't make much sense at all! She was just trying to find a groove to get into. It was nice to be playing again though. Since she had arrived at J. Cricket for her senior year she had only lifted her guitar one other time, and that was her first night. Although it had only been a little over a week, she missed it. && THE TEMPLATE WAS MADE BY ALLIE. && the outfit miss eloise is wearing is this little getup. && the lyrics are from better than revenge, by t. swift. && all i have to say is stop talking that blah, blah, blah!

- - - - - - - - - - - As a young girl, and even as she grew up, Arielle Mia Rosalie had always been too adventurous for her father’s liking. In her eyes, the whole world was an adventure and if you didn’t venture out, then you really didn’t live. Albert Triton just wanted to keep his youngest daughter safe, and he never knew if she was. Still, her father wasn’t here and even if he were, she would still disobey him. So, although Ari would get in trouble later for failing to attend her math class, she skipped off on another adventure. She had arrived at the academy late in the previous night and therefore wasn’t familiar with her surroundings as of yet, a fact she was planning to change. Rooms needed to be explored, and so she set about doing so. It was only about five minutes into her unfortunately dull adventure that Ari heard music coming from one of the rooms. It was clear the musician was simply strumming, practicing. Ari had heard enough of her sisters practicing to last a lifetime and in her opinion, whoever was in the room sounded much better. It wasn’t that her sisters couldn’t sing, no; it was that they were so showy about doing so. Of course, this made Albert proud and another reason why Ari felt like such an outsider in her family. Her sisters were content to knit or embroider, but Ari needed the outdoors. She needed the fresh air.
If she could explain that to her father, maybe for once, she could get him to understand. But after he had had Sebastian, one of their chauffeurs, drop her off at the academy, he had restricted the times that she could contact him. Since she had just left yesterday, Ari had to wait a week to try to talk to her father. She knew it was Albert’s way of keeping her from again begging him to understand. Normally, she wouldn’t take no for an answer, but she also knew that her father would have made it impossible for her to reach him. Arielle usually found herself wondering if her mother would be more understanding if she were alive, or if she would also be like her sisters.
She could either stand out here and leave the person in peace or she could go make her presence known. Arielle didn’t hide in the shadows and she wasn’t about to start. She opened the door with a slight creak and snuck into the back so that she could get a better view. Why let the person throw her out right when she got there? She could make her presence known later. Ari almost envied those that were able to express themselves so openly, although she suspected that a nearly empty room wasn’t exactly open and the person had probably wanted her privacy. Still, Ari kept her music to herself. In fact, her father thought she was the only one in her family without any musical ability after she had successfully convinced him that her voice sounded worse than a screeching eel. In truth, it was close to that of a siren, although not nearly as seductive. Ari sighed, knowing that if her voice was more seductive, boys might pay her more attention. Oh, the woe of being boy-crazy without a boy to go crazy over.
It was time to make herself known. Ari wouldn’t let herself sit there forever, as if she were invisible. Besides, the girl had taken a break in her practicing. Or, at least Ari thought so. She couldn’t be sure. “You’re really good,” she smiled at the other girl, not caring if the girl would respond kindly or rudely. Arielle really didn’t care what people thought about her ninety-nine percent of the time. Still, there was that one percent where she wanted them to at least like her. “You probably wanted to be alone, but I heard you and couldn’t help myself. I’m Ari. I just arrived here last night.” Well even if the girl was rude, Arielle still had her manners and she knew introductions were in order.

Eloise didn't know how to react to the new comer. Her first instinct was to snap at her, of course. However, she had to applaud the girl's sneakiness. Whether Eloise hadn't noticed her due to being so focused on practicing or because she was just quiet, it was unknown. There would be time for both in the long run. Right now Ellie was trying to make up her mind. Was she annoyed or was she happy with the compliment? It was a bit of both really, so she decided to follow the typical ways of conversation for the first part, and then she'd discipline the girl. Clearly this ginger had yet to learn the ways of the academy if she had only arrived last night. One of those ways was to avoid getting Ellie angry at all costs. Ugly temper the girl had, really. "Thanks," she said stiffly and had to bite back her next words. If she were to allow herself to speak she would've said that the girl actually could've helped herself if she had the sense to; those words would've been sharp and cold. It took a lot for Eloise not to spit them out. Maybe over time, if the girl managed to get on Eloise's good side, they could be friends. That was over time. If anyone knew Eloise, they knew that in order to really get to know her, they had to have patience because Eloise had very little patience to call her own. "I'm Eloise," she added because that was the right thing to do and how would the girl, this Ari character, know who to avoid if she didn't know her name? She figured she could do one of three things. She could: A. Ignore the girl and hope that she would leave her alone. B. Say whatever was on her mind and especially let the girl know that she was a force to be reckoned with. or C. She could try to not be so mean. The only options that were appealing to Eloise were A and B, so naturally the voice in her mind that was constantly trying to reason with her to be a better person was trying to get her to choose C. Maybe it was the nice weather and the calmness that she had been exhibiting that made her want to choose A or B, but then all of that glory was so rudely interrupted. It wouldn't really be unfair to be rude back then, would it? That was all Eloise was concerned with: level battlefields and fairness. Okay, so maybe it wasn't fair, but it was even, and that was all she needed was a sense of balance. "So you just arrived last night?" So maybe her voice was a bit cold, but it wasn't like she was saying anything outright mean. It was just her tone that had bite, not the words. "What do you think so far?" && THE TEMPLATE WAS MADE BY ALLIE. && the outfit miss eloise is wearing is this little getup. && the lyrics are from better than revenge, by t. swift.

- - - - - - - - - - - Had Ari been more like her sisters, she would have become nervous after minutes went by without any answer from the other girl. But, Ari didn’t get nervous easily and especially not in front of someone she didn’t know. Still, she did get impatient. It was only in her nature to be impatient and if the girl didn’t hurry and say something, Ari decided that she might just go find someone who would. Her father had always wanted her to learn patience but like many other things, she had disappointed him.
“Welcome.” She nodded, giving a smile despite her present company’s gloomy exterior. She couldn’t match the expression of the girl in front of her without conforming and really, Ari wasn’t about to conform just to fit in. She wanted to stand out. “Eloise, hello. Nice to meet you.” Well if there was one thing Albert Triton could be proud of, it was that his youngest daughter did have manners. Excellent manners, depending on her mood.
“I did.” She nodded again, thinking that she really did need to explore everywhere else. Oh, Arielle planned to have every inch of the academy looked over by the next night at the least; she couldn’t live in a place that she knew so little about without finding every possible escape that she could. After all, her father had sent her here without her consent. If she didn’t like it, she would simply leave. It didn’t have to be complicated. “Well, the academy’s fine, I suppose. I haven’t seen enough of it to make any judgments. Do you like it?” Ari didn’t normally judge people unless they were quick to insult her family. It was instinct, really; she could defy her father and feel like a stranger next to her sisters, but no one else was allowed to mess with her family in any way, shape, or form.
Arielle had thought of sneaking off to find the swimming pool earlier, but she knew that if she started swimming, she wouldn’t be able to stop and so had put it off for the time being. It had been like that for as long as she could remember. It was like the water called to her, like she and the pool became one. It was, of course, better in an ocean, but as long as she could swim, Ari wasn’t picky. Much.
“It looks like a great landscape,” she added from the little she had seen of it. With arriving the previous night, she only saw the outdoors in the dark and there wasn’t as good of a view when it was that dark. She also hadn’t been outside for a single minute today, a fact she wished to remedy later. Arielle wasn’t the type to stay cooped up indoors all day long and she wouldn’t have anything against defying the rules if they kept her inside. She never had anything against defying the rules to begin with. “Are you writing a song?”

Eloise didn't return the nice greeting that was meant to follow introductions. In fact, all she did was nod. She wasn't about to lie and say that it was nice to meet Arielle too because, as a matter of fact in Eloise's eyes, it wasn't. If there was one thing Eloise prided in herself it was her honesty; so maybe people would question that bit of her, but she would always prove them wrong. It wasn't that she lied, she just didn't tell the truth and there was a big difference between the two. There was a difference between not saying a word or twisting a story and flat out lying. It all made sense in Ellie's mind and as long as it made sense to her, she didn't see a reason to try to change it for anybody else. So, it made sense to the blonde not to return the 'nice to meet you'. Besides, why should she instill a false idea in this naive girl's mind? Why couldn't this girl just shut up and walk away? Why did she have to question Eloise so? After all, she had just informed Eloise that she hadn't seen enough of the castle to decide how much she liked it. Well, why don't you get on your way then? she thought, go explore like you want to, go, go! She bit back those words though because there was a question at hand and it would be providing a false impression if she completely dismissed it. Eloise was a lot of things, and one of those things was independent; she knew part of being able to be self sufficient was not having everyone completely against you - otherwise where would she get her leverage? She had to look out for herself because she knew there were a lot of big bad people in the world who may try to manipulate her. Funny how she had a tendency to do that herself. Anyway, she decided it was about time to answer. "Yeah, I like it," she said simply, "I mean, over time a place like this kind of starts to grow on you." The castle was a place unlike anything Ellie had ever seen, and being a so-called 'army brat' she had seen many places. Eloise nodded, the landscape was nice. There was a lot of room to wander and Ellie did not have to worry about any stupid students running into her. Unfortunately, she didn't have such luck today. In fact, if she did have luck than she would be writing a song right now! "No," she said cooly, "I was practicing, and then I was planning on writing a song, but clearly that plan will have to wait until later." Figuring that this girl wasn't going to leave her alone anytime soon, she decided to embrace it. Well, she'd embrace it as much as she could without going insane. The only civil question she could come up with was, "Do you write?" && THE TEMPLATE WAS MADE BY ALLIE. && the outfit miss eloise is wearing is this little getup. && the lyrics are from better than revenge, by t. swift.

- - - - - - - - - - - Ari wasn’t completely naive, she could tell that the girl didn’t particularly want to speak with her, but she also thought that maybe she might change her mind and so decided not to leave just yet. Her father was always trying to convince her to socialize with more females so Ari figured she should at least listen to one of his words of advice, as she often ignored the others.
Albert just couldn’t understand how his daughter, with six sisters around her, acted more like a man than a woman. On the other hand, Arielle thought that maybe if she didn’t have so many sisters, she would act more feminine. She still went boy-crazy so Albert was sure to get his grandchildren some time. Ari thought that wouldn’t be for a very long time, much to Albert’s dismay. Arielle was sure her father had an arranged marriage picked out, but she would simply avoid it. Truthfully, it wouldn’t be so simple, but Arielle hadn’t met anything yet that she couldn’t figure out her way around and there was absolutely no way she would enter into a loveless marriage.
She noticed that Eloise didn’t say it was nice to meet her as well and shrugged it off. So the girl was in a foul mood. Well, that could be fixed. Arielle figured it probably hadn’t helped her case for her to interrupt Eloise like she had, but well, the girl was talented and Ari couldn’t help pointing it out. Ari nodded. “It seems like it might.” Arielle wondered if she would also like the building but she figured the fact that it had a good landscape and several places to explore pointed in the right direction. Surely there wasn’t any way she could dislike a place such as that. She could possibly go swimming whenever she wanted, something Albert hadn’t been particularly fond of. Arielle was used to disappointing her father time and time again.
“Sometimes the best songs come from wandering around,” Arielle nodded, knowing from experience though hoping the other girl wouldn’t realize. Ari could never sit still in one place when she was privately practicing her music. She found she got more inspiration from walking around and examining things she wouldn’t be able to if she didn’t get up. “It looks like a nice day out, maybe going outdoors would give you an idea.” Arielle realized she was probably irritating the girl further, but at the same time, she wasn’t going to stay silent just to get on her good side. “Sometimes…I mostly swim. Swimming is good inspiration for writing too, at least when you connect with the water.” Arielle nodded, figuring out too late that Eloise might not have understood her. Oh well.
“Do you swim?” Eloise had asked her a question, so she asked another and whether or not it was the thing to do, Ari knew asking was the only way to explore. She explored anything, places, people. She found everything outside of her castle fascinating. Always had.

Eloise wasn't one to further the discussion even more. Once a subject had been covered, she would let it go. Well, in a case like this she would anyway. When there wasn't somebody she was too fond of trying to get something out of her, she'd very well prove that it wasn't that easy. She let the topic of the castle and the grounds drop like it was hot - only it wasn't at all. It was a cold, dry, shriveled up piece of conversation that could be dismissed as dust now. That's how it would stay. The next bit of conversation the redhead tried to make peaked some interest in Eloise, though she didn't let it show. Ellie liked to walk around before she wrote sometimes, not because it helped her see things she would've never thought of, it just made her focus more because her body had something to do. When she wrote songs she wrote from personal experience, usually or something that she felt passionately about or was interested in. When she sat still, her mind had a tendency to weave an idea in many ways which made it difficult to capture one thought and bind it to paper. She didn't want to take that route today though because she would no doubtly end up outside in the exact place she didn't want to go. "I don't need an idea," she added sharply, "I have an idea, what I need is..." she almost spat out that she needed 'peace and goddamn quiet,' and she would have worded it like that if it weren't for the water remark. "Not to swim," she finished simply, wondering how on earth swimming and water could create a spark of musical genius. Once again, her interest was peaked. Was this girl an artist of some sort? Well if she was, and had come out with it earlier, than maybe - just maybe - Eloise would take her words more to heart. If she wasn't and was just trying to brainstorm ideas... well that wouldn't end blow over well. Eloise wanted to move away from the water idea all together; she was terrified of water. She never went in past her waist whether she was in a pool, at the ocean or the slow moving river that cut through the grounds. Flying to school was the death of her because she was nervous the whole time. "No," she said stiffly, "no I don't swim and I don't see how it's inspirational either." She couldn't get beyond that idea. How could water lead to creative minds and inspiration and 'connection' as Arielle so plainly put it. Nothing seemed plain about it. Ellie imagined that if she were to go out swimming she'd focus more on being alive than writing a song. Well, she thought in a joking way to herself, that could always lead to a song about staying alive - though I think they already one of those. && THE TEMPLATE WAS MADE BY ALLIE. && the outfit miss eloise is wearing is this little getup. && the lyrics are from better than revenge, by t. swift. && all i have to say is, "don't worry about it! life gets hectic, i know (:"

- - - - - - - - - - - Arielle supposed the polite thing would be to leave Eloise alone, as it was clear the girl didn’t want to talk to anyone and likely wanted to return to her music. But, Ari wasn’t the politest of people. Even as a princess, taught manners at an early age, she had never really taken others’ feelings into consideration, especially if other people’s feelings conflicted with her adventures. Eloise’s didn’t at the moment, exactly, but she did want to get to know people and Eloise was making that difficult. That might be one reason Arielle preferred hanging out with the boys. Girls were more often than not difficult to speak with, at least for her. They always wanted to talk fashion.
Ari could never understand how anyone could spend hours talking about something as trivial as fashion. People should spend much more time talking about saving the environment. Those poor sea creatures were always dying because of some netting or other, something that could be easily taken care of while still letting people enjoy the meat they desired so much. All you needed was to make sure innocent bystander creatures weren’t harmed in the process. Ari could have sworn her response made Eloise react a little, but she must have seen things. Eloise hadn’t blinked, smiled, nodded, or had any other reaction that Ari had noticed.
“Oh, you have an idea so you just need to formulate the words.” Ari nodded, not thinking for one second that what Eloise had obviously meant to say was “peace and quiet.” There she went, not thinking of others again. It was always astonishing to people how Arielle could spend hours considering the sea creatures, land animals, even commoners occasionally, but never anyone who really mattered. Not that she was sure Eloise mattered but with the way the girl held herself, Ari was sure she at least thought she did.
She thought she detected a flash of …fear? when she mentioned swimming, but just like the other reaction – or non-reaction – it was gone in an instant. Arielle shrugged it off. It was ludicrous for anyone to be afraid of something so calm as water. Ari shrugged. “There’s just something about it. At least for me. I get in the water, start swimming, ideas come from all over and I have a plan as soon as I get out.” This worked better in oceans, not pools like Ari was used to, which might be better for her or she would sing more often. Albert knowing his daughter could sing wouldn’t fare well for Arielle. She would be forever forced to sing for a crowd of stuffy, uptight people instead of be able to sneak off and meet up with people like Flanders. Oh, how she missed Flanders already. “What do you usually do for inspiration?” She was curious, as she couldn’t see how anyone could come up with an idea by simply sitting down. “A brilliant girl like you must do something besides sit.” Flattery could sometimes get her everywhere.

"Yes," Eloise sighed, "yes, all I need is to formulate the words." The blonde wanted ever so much to get up and shove the girl out of the room. Arielle probably wouldn't realize what was going on, right? As the Atrox student saw it, the swimmer was rather dense. So maybe if Eloise just got her talking... and talking... and talking (which didn't seem as though it would be too difficult considering the circumstances), then maybe she would converse herself right out of the door. It was a nice thought, though even Eloise knew that no matter how dense somebody was, they'd realize their chatter amounted to nothing when a door was shut in their face. It seemed that unless she were to flat out say, 'get out of here,' the girl wouldn't realize her faults. That was a bit too straight forward for Ellie's liking. She knew that a lot of people didn't like her, but she had built up a wall and taught herself not to care anymore. That didn't give her the right to be mean, though. She just couldn't help herself sometimes; words just flowed naturally and the subtle harshness in anything she said could either be very apparent or not. It depended on the person, and it seemed that with Arielle it would not be as apparent as Eloise wished it could be. Perhaps Eloise could write about that - how she was mean and nobody seemed to get it. That would be a rather sad song to perform though; she wouldn't want to go so far as to defame herself completely (unless it would somehow gain her some respect). Then she contemplated writing about the girl and the situation. She wouldn't be able to write about it now though, nor did she know what to say when she'd decide to actually write it. If she even began to write a song now, very little could be done because she supposed that the girl would chime in. It seemed to be Arielle's favourite passtime. Eloise let every word about water flow in one ear and out the other. She didn't care for it, all she cared for when it came to water was A. not drowning, and B. not letting anyone know that she couldn't swim and was terrified with the thought. Instead she skipped to the flattery. Ellie grinned at this. The girl was smart; flattery could win over everyone's heart. For now, Ellie would play along. Maybe, if this girl didn't grow on her, Eloise could sometime call Arielle out for thinking that flattery was the key. Still, it was nice to hear a compliment regardless of whether Arielle knew if it was true or not and was just trying to win some favours. There was a question at hand though, and it had to be adressed. Eloise kept some sharpness in her voice, though there was a little less. It was exhausting having to keep it up with somebody who didn't comprehend it. Usually people would have understood that by now they should have made their quick getaway. This girl was just too persistant, too tiresome, too curious. Why couldn't she accept the knowledge of how things were? Why did she have to ask questions and not just leave things alone to be what they were? "Usually I sit down with ideas already in my head," she began, "I make lists sometimes when I'm not feeling an emotion strong enough. I'll daydream, I'll look at pictures... I don't know. I have a lot of different things. It's all personal." Eloise was off on a little rant, and before she knew where she was heading she was there, "why am I even telling you this? I barely even know you." Now somebody would normally apologize for this outburst, but Ellie didn't like to apologize, nor was it really an outburst. They weren't words meant to sting (shocking, isn't it?). When she asked herself the question and commented on having just met this girl, her voice was lower like she was in thought - she had, after all, simply been pondering this aloud. && THE TEMPLATE WAS MADE BY ALLIE. && the outfit miss eloise is wearing is this little getup. && the lyrics are from better than revenge, by t. swift. && perhaps? it'd be good because then you could get to know the character better, y'know? though it may just be eloise - she's a brat and doesn't offer much to work with, sorry /: she's difficult for me to post with sometimes...
