you can own the earth and still, all you'll own is earth
until you can paint with all the colors of the wind.
NAME: "Hi, I'm Nekut Matoax Hunsuna. I'm 100% Native American; I'm a Powhatan Algonquian, actually. My last name, many moons ago was Wahunsunacock, but it has been shortened since them. I'm actually related to Chief Powhatan himself. All of my name comes from what the dead Powhatan language, but you'll find my nickname - as was my last name - has been 'americanized' (or as I like to refer to it, 'europeanized'). Let me tell you what my name means then. My first name is (this may be an upset) a number. Nekut means one and Matoax supposedly means little snow feather."
NICKNAME: "You can call me... Nekut, but I prefer Nikki. It's a lot easier and there tends to be less explanation about it."
AGE: "I'm seventeen years old and a senior here at J. Cricket. There's really nothing more to say other than I'm getting that famed senior-itus when I don't want to do anything anymore and I just want to get out of here!"
DATE OF BIRTH: "I was born on December 9th, 1992. It was a nice day. There were predictions of a snow storm, but it turned out to be a very light flury that looks very pretty in photographs. This is how I got my middle name, though I'm not sure why they didn't make it my first... maybe because I was the first and only child, they wanted it to make sense or they thought I was 'destined for something greater'."
STATUS/INTERESTED IN: "I am single and interested in young men. I like to admire more from afar first, and work my way up. I am not looking for any sort of relationship, though my father seems to have tied me down already to a boy he thinks is perfect."

EYES: "I have almond shaped, chocolate eyes, I'm not sure what more to say about them."
HAIR: "I have very thick, very dark brown - almost black - hair, that I would never dream on dying or doing anything damaging to it. I've only straightened it a few times in the past, and curled it, but it's naturally a little wavy. I have angles and layers as well."
STYLE: "My style... well, it's not bad, I don't think. I like to be comfortable and be able to move, so whatever it takes I tend to wear it. I like to look cute in the rpocess though, so it has to be cute and practical! I love makeup too, but I don't wear a lot. On normal days I use browns, and golds - you know, the natural shades. I wear eyeliner and mascara as well. I don't layer on the foundation, I just use a light dusting of powder to even myself out a bit, and occasionally the cover up when necessary. I tend to have chapstick in my pocket, but I also have lipgloss with me a lot, which I love. I like to look pretty."
BODY TYPE: "I'm a little on the smaller side. I stand at 5'2.75" (that 3/4 of an inch is important), and weigh about 120 pounds. I do try to stay in shape, by running and doing ab work outs to keep a flat belly. I do get self conscious from time to time though, but I don't have a real problem with my appearance. I don't mind wearing bikinis or tops that reveal some - unless it's a bad day of course."
UNIQUE FEATURES: "I do have my ears pierced, one hole per ear, and I like the simple earrings, usually studs and occasionally hoops. I also have a tattoo - an armband - around my right arm that is a dull red color. It symbolizes the Powhatan Algonquian tribe that I come from."

DISNEY SPIRIT: Pocahontas from... Pocahontas.
LIKES: "So I'll tell you some things things that I like, and maybe a little description about it... maybe. We'll start with dance, I love dancing. I also like colored pencils, and sharpies because I enjoy word art as opposed to sketching and stuff. I like going to live performances like musicals, dance shows, concerts, and so on. My favourite concert performances are the coffee shop performers because I can enjoy coffee and a nice slice of coffee cake with fruit on the side. It's my favourite breakfast. I like healthy food the (and the occasional meal of junkfood, I admit). My favourite days are summer days when me and my family have barbeques, especially when my dad cooks ribs with a lot of barbeque sauce. I have a great liking towards saucey things, even though that sounds really weird... Anyway, moving on... I love flowers, gardening (I have a tiny flower garden out back) and nature in general - especially animals. I need a lot of open space and fresh air. I have a tendency to go exploring or as some like to refer to it 'snooping where I shouldn't'. I like knowing and discovering things."
DISLIKES: "Oh, I dislike having to list what I dislike because then it means I have to think of something which is significantly more difficult than encountering what I dislike and letting you know then. Oh, well, I guess I'll rattle things off. I don't like people who lie, steal, foist, and so on. Why can't you be happy with what you have? I'm also not a big fan of pessimists, though I try to make them a little more optimistic. I get very easil annoyed with people who are afraid of everything and cry babies. Hypocrites are not on my list of things I like, but I figure they're not on a lot of peoples' lists. I don't like to be ignored, and I hate it when people are mad at me and don't tell me why. If I ask you why, it's because I don't actually know, so don't just tell me 'you know,' because I don't. Oh, I'm not a fan of english horse back riding or undercooked meat, nor do I like black coffee or tea with honey - actually I don't favour honey at all. Oh and something that bothers me: celebrity couple names - you know, like the smash up? It's not my thing; I think it sounds too tacky, and I don't like tacky things."
SECRETS: "My father is very old school, and has an arranged marriage ready for me when I say the word. I want to change that."
FEARS: "I don't like blades of any sort at all. They actually scare me and when I watch movies with murders like stabbing or slitting people open I'm paranoid for a while. I'm also paranoid about being kidnapped. The worst thing imaginable would be if I were kidnapped and then cut! Oh, I can't even think about it!"
GOALS: "I want to be a professional dancer. In school I study all of the different styles of dance, so although I don't take formal lessons anymore, they're not out of my system. People say I'm a 'natural dancer'. I take that as a very nice compliment. Or I want to be an explorer... or maybe I want to work with nature and natural sciences... I'm undecided."
PERSONALITY: Nekut is very free spirited, and she follows her heart, instinct, gut - whatever you'd like to call it. She isn't going to be the traditional young girl to succumb to others under pressure. In fact, those are the times when she reveals the most strength in taking her own path. Some people may call her stuborn, others may say she's naive, others applaud her for paying attention to herself and her true desires. She doesn't desire much. So long as there's food on the table, clothes on her back, and a roof over her head, she's happy. She knows the difference between what she wants, and what she needs. She's not afraid to work hard to reach her goal and is rather independant when doing so. Nekut likes to do things her way, but will listen with an open mind. She tries to be a very open minded person, and tends to be neutral in arguments which she's not involved in. However, that's not to say she won't defend what she believes in. If Nekut is one thing, she is definately not lazy. She prefers to do what she can for a cause than sit back and let life takes it's toll.
Nekut doesn't try to defy authority, but she doesn't always go by the rules. She loves exploring and trying new things; many would call her a risk taker. She will push herself to the limit with anything she does. Whether it be participating in sports and being competitive with herself or trying to persuade somebody to consider the other side of an argument. She can be a peace keeper or a peace breaker. Ultimately, she wants peace. Nikki is a kind young girl who sees the value in everything. She wants to show this value to the rest of the world and hopes that better things will come from the future once it's realized. She's faithful, and the opposite of a hypocrite. She feels as though most times she knows who she is, and even though she struggles with that sometimes, she knows what she doesn't want to be. She tends to make list of her morals and values and tries to follow them. She won't settle for anything less than what she knows she's capable of and wants to push others to do the same.
Nekut is very brave and loyal and will defend not only herself, but anything that is special to her. She tries her best to defend things with a levelhead, but sometimes if people don't see her reasoning she can get frustrated and raise her voice a little. She isn't a flight risk, but she will run off for a little bit to clear her head. With her loyal heart, she will always return home to the ones she loves. Love, she believes, is perhaps the most powerful emotion one can ever feel; it has the power to build and destroy, but mostly build.

MOTHER: "My mother unfortunately, passed away when I was a baby for natural, yet uncertain, causes. Something happened in her brain causing it to instantly shut down her body... She was very pretty in all of the photographs I have. Though I don't remember much. I love hearing the stories that my father shares. He was very affected by her death, and became a little more stern like I was told he was in the 'olden days'. Anyway, my mother's name was Crenepo Hunsuna. Crenepo means woman, so it must have been an honor years ago to be called that as a child. She was 30 years old when she passed away and was a faithful volunteer at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and many other non-profit organizations."
FATHER: "My dad is a great man, though he can be a little over bearing sometimes. His name is Naatam Hunsuna, meaning wolf. Symbolizing strength and such. He is now 48 years old and is an amazing fire fighter, and an equally great chef."
SIBLINGS: "My father never remarried, thus I have no siblings."
OTHERS: --- ---, best friend(s) (nakoma, meeko); --- ---, arranged husband (kocoum); --- ---, future final (john smith)
HOMETOWN: "I was born in Williamsburg, Virginia and raised there my entire life. I've never really traveled much before. I stayed within the state of Virginia until I recieved my invite to Jiminy Cricket. I suppose Ireland's a good first foreign place to reside."
BRIEF HISTORY: "So I guess you've got bits and pieces of my history as I rambled. I already covered the day I was born, the history behind my name, how homebound I was, so I guess I'll just elaborate on a few things. I guess I'll start before all of that - don't worry, I won't go back to the Jamestown colonization, that's a little too far.
My parents met at a meeting. Okay, I know that sounds very vague, but allow me to explain further. Every year there's a big festival, like a huge blowout... Well, as big as it can get when there are only about 1,000 Native Powhatan in the state of Virginia. My father was dragged to the planning committee by his father while my mother was very enthusiastic about the whole ordeal. It would be nice to say that it was love at first sight, but it wasn't (which was often emphasized in the stories I heard). In fact, my parents couldn't stand each other. They were on opposite ends of the spectrum. He didn't like her childlike enthusiasm, she wasn't a fan of his stern face. Over time they warmed up on each other until they were dating. This lasted for four years, then they became engaged. The wedding was put on hold for two years because of financial situations. A year after their wedding they planned for a kid and thus, I was born - which you know the story of.
When I was younger I had such an interest in everything around me, and I still do. I somehow had 'wisdom' people said, that nobody could find in anyone anymore. I was so free spirited that gymnastics didn't work to discipline me. It seemed that dance was the only other alternative so I took every kind of dance imagineable for a four year old to take. I guess I was alright. I mean, I think I looked just as good as everybody else in my class, yet I seemed to steadily rise through classes at an 'unusual pace'. To me dance is dance. There aren't levels of ability, just levels of expression.
Anyway, life went on the way life does. Boring days, exciting days, angry days when I ran to the other side of town in order to calm myself, and then there were just days that pass like a blur. Nothing really eventful seemed to happen. Every year I had my spring dance recital and the winter showcase, every year I'd go to school, study hard, and do well. Then there was the time for me to go to high school. Freshman year seemed so... intimidating to say the least. I didn't know whether I would be the quiet kid in the corner or if I should try to be the loud popular one. I was used to being stuck in the middle. As I was trying to figure out what I wanted, I recieved an invite to attend Jiminy Cricket Academy. It sounded great (though the concept a little odd), except for the fact that it was all the way in Ireland. I had never left Virginia and my father was never comfortable with planes or foreign nations. Needless to say I persuaded him and for the next three years of my schooling I was studying in Europe. I didn't change myself to be anyone to fit in. I took my own path and decided that right in the middle of nonexistence and popularity was where I belonged; I was always comfortable there. I never tried to stay there because that's what others wanted, but because that's what I wanted. Now it's my senior year and I'm perfectly content where I'm at. Though if I decide my hearts pulling me in another path, I'll take it."
