PERSONALITY:
On the outside Ray seems like a typical princes. She's beautiful, small, a perfect damsel in distress, right? Wrong. Ray is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, and if you try and held her, she'll make sure you know it. She's drives a hard bargain and often gets what she wants. There are some girly things she likes to do, singing and dancing for instance, but she also likes to be active. She likes to rock-climb and skateboard, and she's not afraid to get dirty.
Ray has a very big imagination and sometimes it gets away from her. Not knowing who her real parents are, she often attempts to search for them by any means possible. When she was young, she would stare at the stars and reason that, since her parents were most likely looking at the same stars, if she wished hard enough on them her parents would hear her. Things like that are what make Ray seem spacey, though she's anything but. Ray is sharp and observant as well as funny and a little sarcastic at times. She trusts too easily and has yet to learn from that. She's a good girl with a rebellious streak. And for the record, she still wishes on the first star she sees. It's a tradition, and she never misses it.
MOTHER: --
FATHER: --
SIBLINGS: --
OTHERS: Rachel Helling ~ legal guardian
HOMETOWN: Reading, Ohio
BRIEF HISTORY:
It was a dark a stormy night, the night that Ray was born. She was born to an adorable, young couple -- their first child. As the nurses rested the baby girl in the bed they'd set up, the mother began to have some difficulties. The nurses swarmed to take care of her, and as their backs were turned a short woman snuck into the room, stealing baby Railyn. As the nurses brought the mother back to full health, they turned to retrieve the baby only to find her missing. By then, the woman who'd stolen her was gone.
Ray was raised in a small town in Ohio, somewhere her parents would think to look, since she was born in California. She was told that Rachel Helling -- the woman who stole her and her legal guardian -- had been her mother's sister. Rachel told Railyn that her parents had died in a car crash but Raylin had somehow survived. Ray grew up, attending a small elementary school and learning to fend for herself.
When she was about seven, Ray realized that her "mother" never paid with anything but cash, never paid taxes, and never told anyone their real names. When she questioned her guardian, she was yelled at for being so nosy. This only spiked Ray's interest and she began snooping around. She found her actual birth certificate and called the doctor on the certificate. While she wasn't able to get the names of her parents (they had been blotted out on the certificate) she was able to get the truth out of the doctor; her parents hadn't died after all. Since that day, Railyn has been looking for her parents in secret, making sure not to let Rachel catch on to her.
When Railyn got her letter accepting her to J. Cricket, she couldn't wait to go. She'd never been anywhere outside of Ohio, and never had any friends from anywhere outside of Ohio either. It took some convincing to let Rachel to agree, but finally she did it. J. Cricket is the one place Railyn can actually be her inquisitive self without chastising from Rachel.
