Railyn hummed to herself idly as she took the steps up to the roof two at a time. The roof was off limits, of course no one ever followed this rule. Even if most did, Ray probably wouldn't have. She wasn't rebellious as a rule, but she would break out in rebellion when people least expected it. As she pushed open the door to the roof, she breathed in the fresh air. She was glad she'd come up here at night, for the stars were truly a beautiful sight. It wasn't too cold, which was good considering her outfit. She'd adorned herself in a simple pair of black and white plaid shorts and paired it with one of her favorite t-shirts; a red number with Spongebob on it. As she'd been preparing to sneak from her dorm room, she'd slipped on her moccasins and grabbed her Batman bag. The bag contained everything Ray every brought with her: a notebook and pen, for scribbling down her thoughts, her computer, her camera in case she should see something inspiring, her iPod, and of course her cell phone. Often there was some sort of snack stored in there as well. Tonight, her snack of choice was a pack of goldfish crackers.
Ray smiled as she slid the bag off of her shoulder, setting it down on the roof and sitting beside it. She pulled a ponytail off of her thin wrist and pulled her long blonde hair into a bun on top of her head. She stared up at the stars for a moment, as she always did, breathing a big sigh. "Come on...I know you're out there somewhere..." she sighed. Talked to the stars was a bad habit of hers, but it was one she was unlikely to break soon. Ray felt that, since her parents must be looking at the same stars somewhere, surely they would hear her. It was only logical, right? Ray let out a small laugh at herself, hanging her head. Of course it wasn't logical. Of course her parents wouldn't hear her, of course she was wasting her time. Ray stared down at her knees for a moment. For once, she just wished that she could tell someone what she was thinking. Tell them without fear of what they would think or say or do if she revealed some of her more cynical or strange thoughts. How would other's react if, for once, she wasn't just happy-go-lucky Railyn?
She pushed the thought from her mind as she reached in her bag and grabbed her camera. She smiled and turned the device on, laying back again and snapping some pictures of the stars. The least she could do for herself was distract her mind from such problems. She was young! She shouldn't be worrying about such things. At least that was what her guardian told her.

buscare buscare en otro mar otro lugar " i'm gonna fly away " the roof, it was probably one of tyler's favorite places to be. probably because he just loved laying back and looking up at the stars. he really couldn't tell you why though. he just loved the way he felt when he was looking up at them. looking up at the stars he felt so small and alone but at the same time he felt like there was nothing that he couldn't do and that out there somewhere there was somebody who was looking up at the stars just like he was and feeling the same way that he was. or at least that was what he hoped. either way dressed up in his pjs with his favorite blanket and pillow in his arms he was headed up to the roof to lay out under the stars for a little bit and eat some goldfish. cause that was pretty much just how he rolled.
climbing up the steps to the roof munching on the goldfish from the bag that he brought with him tyler began wondering if he would find his best friend ray up there. she was often up there looking at the stars as well and he really like being around her because she was such a cool girl. plus he could really use the company once he got up there, looking up at the stars alone was more fun when there was someone there to talk to. opening the door that led out to the roof he heard a tiny voice that sounded very much like that of his best friend. if she was already up here then he would have a chance to try and surprise her. closing the door behind him as quietly as possible he snuck around the roof trying to come around so he could sneak up behind railyn. tyler like surprising people, only because he liked making people smile. which was normally the reaction that he got from people when he surprised them.
dropping his stuff a few feet from where railyn was laying taking pictures of the night sky, tyler walked over as quietly as he possibly could so that she wouldn't notice. she was clicking away at her camera so tyler was pretty confident that he would be able to sneak up on ray without anything going wrong. that was of course until he stepped on his pj pants and took a tumble straight to the ground. of course though being a total BAMF he made it look like he fell on purpose when ray looked back and saw him. dong an almost perfect roll out of his fall he landed as softly as he possibly could and took a seat next to his best friend. oh hey there ray. did you see that totally bad ass stunt that i just pulled back there? pretty awesome right? nodding his head and smirking like a total BAMF tyler got up and went back to get his blanket and pillow, careful this time to not step on his pants so he wouldn't fall again. he was pretty sure that he wouldn't be able to make it look like he fell on purpose a second time. Ray sighed as she stared up at the stars, shivering slightly. It wasn't cold, persay, but as she was dressed in just shorts and a t-shirt, each breeze brought on a little shiver. "Damn," she whispered, wishing she would've brought a blanket. Oh well. That just meant she probably wouldn't stay long, which was just as well. Last year she'd been notorious for bending the rules. She'd never gotten in real trouble but that was just luck. Or her charm. Almost no one could say no to Ray. This year, though, she figured she shouldn't get off on the wrong foot. Besides, being on the roof wasn't as fun alone as it was with someone else. She couldn't think of many people she would actually be willing to share her spot with, but one certain freshman came to mind. One freshman who never ceased to make her laugh or provide her comfort.
Tyler was undoubtedly Ray's best friend. He was funny and sweet, stubborn and smart, a total BAMF. She'd met him over the summer and, when she learned that he'd be coming to J. Cricket, she'd been ecstatic. Ray was very friendly, but it was hard for her to make friends. Being polite to everyone, she was never sure who was just nice to her because she was nice to them, and who really liked her. Tyler seemed to be one of the few people who really liked her and she really liked spending time with him. She could be herself around him. Less of a princess, and more of the person she liked being. He liked skateboarding, so she could do that with him. She could do that with others, sure, but they all judged her. Tyler didn't judge. Plus he was just a sweet guy. He genuinely cared and she genuinely cared about him. Like a little brother, of course.
She gasped slightly as she heard foot steps, smiling as she turned around to see Tyler rolling out next to her. "Impressive, Ty," she said with a nod, yawning sitting up. She stretched slightly and crossed her legs. When she noticed his goldfish crackers she laughed, pulling the box she'd brought out of her bag. "Great minds think alike, huh?" she chuckled. Of course, Tyler never went anywhere without his goldfish crackers. And if he did? It was a huge mistake. It had gotten to the point where Ray would keep some in her bag just in case she should ever catch Tyler without some of his beloved snack. She felt like a drug dealer at times, but it better than the alternative of Tyler without his goldfish crackers. "I haven't seen you all day, Ty. Where ya been?"
