Grant had asked Chess to meet him out here. Kinda. He'd set up a silly game for his friend, a scavenger hunt, which Faye had happily assisted with. He'd set up clues, and told him that he'd find a mystery prize at the end, which not only was his friend Grant, but his friend with a bag of Chess' favorite candy, sour gummy worms. His phone beeped a few times, and he flipped it open, reading Faye's text message. Chess was on his way into the forest. Grant smiled really big at this news.
He and Chess were roomies. Sure, the kid was a year younger than Grant, but he was cool. And the older boy appreciated having the kid for a roommate and a friend. Holding tight onto the bag of candy, Grant began to pace, excited to see Chester's face. The two'd met and clicked instantly. Deliciae was a small house, and it was obvious that they were bound to meet. They did, and Chess and Faye met, and the three became tight. He still hadn't admitted to either that he was gay, and he was nervous still about doing so.
But he knew it would have to happen soon. Shooting Faye a quick thank you text, the senior began pacing again, his free hand running through his hair, messing it up, just how he liked it as he awaited his close friend's arrival.

excited, that was probably the only way he could describe how he felt when chess got back to his room from hanging out with angel. seeing two friends in one day? amazing, there was no way that his day could get any better. actually no, he was wrong because courtesy grant he was now on a mission to find his friend. smelling his shirt he quickly changed it and sprayed on some axe. he had been running around in the garden with angel earlier and he smelled of plants and sweat. grabbing all of his stuff he grabbed the first clue and was on his way to find his friend. chess was just about over the moon with excitement. he couldn't wait to see his friend again.
he had been running around j cricket for about five minutes before he figured out that his friend was waiting for him in the forest. really though chess should have figured it out sooner but for some reason he was being nice for once and decided to play grant's game. in reality chess could have figured out the clues quicker but he didn't feel like being quick today. once he was in the forest and had spotted grant chess smiled a wide and playful smile. anyone that knew chess knew that he loved to mess with people's heads. snapping on a couple of twigs so that grant would start looking chess started sneaking around. "are those sour gummy worms i see?" everyone knew that chess was addicted to sour gummy worms. they were pretty much his favorite food. rusting a few branches and stepping on a few twigs he quietly came up from behind grant chess snatched the bag of gummy worms and sat on the forest floor eating them quietly. "'sup grant? i'm guessing the idea for this little game wasn't all yours. it would take a mad man to fool me you know." Grant fidgeted. He'd missed everyone. Faye, Chess, Magic, Percy...even Colin. This was his senior year, and Grant wanted to spend it with his best friends. And that had hit him hard when he'd arrived on campus. His last first day at J. Cricket. This, this thought, it made the senior boy sad. Admittedly, he cried a little bit earlier that day, but he wasn't about to say that. He waited, his thumbs itching as he texted Faye again, anxious and excited all rolled into one. She'd sent something to him about Chess getting a clue from the teachers lounge. The boy raised his brows. He didn't want to know how his friend had gotten the clue, but he was sure he'd find out eventually.
"She hid one in the teachers' lounge. Damnit, Faye." He murmured with a sigh. He should've known putting the blonde in charge of hiding clues was going to end up with some kind of trouble behind it. Faye was adorable, but trouble if not handled correctly. She was small and dangerous, and sometimes people didn't realize that. That, and she looked innocent enough to do shit like hide things in the teachers' lounge. If Grant ever needed something sneaky done, it seemed like Faye was the perfect person to call on.
A snap of twigs made Grant spin, eyes peeled. "are those sour gummy worms i see?" The boy smiled. "Obviously. I wouldn't want to see you without gummy worms, Chess. And it's the other part of your prize!" Grant said happily. The other boy rustled a few branches and Grant turned again, practically tripping. From behind he felt the other snatch the worms and he turned to see Chess sitting on the ground. He laughed and sat down, raising his brow.
"Hey, Chess. Of course not! Faye helped me. I know. But I'm not mad. Faye may be, but she's usually angry-mad, not crazy-mad. Anyway. How're you, sir? Have a good summer? Get into trouble?" Grant said with a smile and laugh. He reached over and took a worm from Chess with a grin, biting off half of it. Yum.
