“I know you... I walked with you once upon a dream,” the young blonde girl sang to herself, spinning around with an absent-minded smile on her face as she reached the fountain. She sat down on the edge of the fountain, trailing her fingers through the water and smiling to herself as she lost herself in her memories. She was reminded of the previous summer she had spent at home. She had been dancing in the forest, lost in her thoughts and dreaming about the future. Where she would go, who she would meet, marry. She hadn’t been paying much attention to her surroundings and what was going on around her. She didn’t notice the boy listening to her from afar. She didn’t notice him step into the dance with her, twirling her around before she had opened her eyes and stared in shock at the boy in front of her. She had ran as quickly as she could back to the house, only catching his name as he shouted it after her.

“I know you...the gleam in your eyes is so familiar to me.” She sighed, pulling her hand out of the water and brushing her blonde hair out of her eyes. Her hair was curled into ringlets today, natural and held half up in a silver ribbon. She was wearing causal clothes, a pair of denim jeans, tight fitting, and a loose pink t-shirt with short sleeves. She was wearing no shoes on her feet or socks, preferring to have bare feet as she had just come from her bedroom. She wished she hadn’t run away from that boy, Philip. What if he was the one she was supposed to marry? What if he was ‘the one’? She wouldn’t know now. She hadn’t seen him since.

“And I know it’s true...” she trailed off, slipping off of the edge of the fountain and sitting on the floor with her back against the fountain. “Shouldn’t of run away.” She sighed, humming the tune under her breath as she looked up at the sky, watching the fluffy white clouds trail past the bright blue sky and across the burning sun. She looked back down at the floor, pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her chin on the top of her knees. “And if I know you, I know what you’ll do... You’ll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream...”
