SEVENTEEN. JUNIOR. REGIUS. EMILY BROWNING. LADY.
dance, ballerina, dance, you mustn't forget a dancer has to dance the part
NAME: lady clarissa leigh elisabeth somerset of beaufort, marchioness of worcester ( shortened to clarissa leigh somerset for sanity reasons )
NICKNAME: clary, clare, larissa, rissa, lady, little lady, etc...
AGE: seventeen
DATE OF BIRTH: june twentieighth
STATUS/INTERESTED IN: single, interested in men.
EYES: Clary's eyes are a startling mix of green, yellow and brown. Depending on her mood, the weather, and even what she's wearing, they can lean more towards one of the colours. Her somewhat wide-set, curious eyes, are framed by long dark lashes, though they're a little thinner than most.
HAIR: Clarissa's hair is a rich brown in colour, falling to the end of her shoulder blades or so. The way the light hits it and the time of year impacts the exact shade of brown, but it can appear anything from a light, golden brown to a rusty reddish-brown. It isn't particularly straight, but isn't overly curly either.
STYLE: Despite her status as one of the world's elite, Lary's wardrobe remains simple. All pieces are of the highest quality and expensive, but she never finds pleasure in being overly flashy and showy. Just because one comes from status does not mean it had to be visible on their clothes by the amount of sparkle or shimmer they wear. As from her long years as a ballerina, she prefers to wear dresses and skirts to jeans and shorts. This does not mean that her skirts are short, quite the opposite actually. Her clothing is modest and never reveals more than necessary. Keeping things tasteful and simple.
BODY TYPE: Due to many years of extensive training in dance, Clary's body is trim and compact, though shorter than most ballerina's. She's the epitome of petite, with only soft curves and weighing in at under one hundred pounds at five feet in height.
UNIQUE FEATURES: Though Clary doesn't have any outrageous tattoos or piercings, besides the two in her earlobes, one on her naval and on her bellybutton (from a rather exciting sixteenth birthday party with pushy friends) she has a few scars on her toes from open sores that developped due to long hours of practice, and some other small ones from miniscule accidents. As stated, she has four piercings, although the ears are the only ones that constantly remain accessorized since she isn't two fond of the other two and was pushed into it by a friend. Her parents hadn't exactly been happy upon learning that their daughter had scarred her body like that, and demand that she keep them hidden in public, for fear of humiliation.
DISNEY SPIRIT: lady, the lady and the tramp
LIKES: pretty things, receiving gifts, ballet, dancing in the rain, being in control of situations, walks & wandering, dance, music, sweets and food in general, being on time, people doing things for her, fine arts, soft breezes, making people smile, being happy, being around friends, shopping, fashion, etc...
DISLIKES: sleeping in, losing and being unsuccessful, rude and snobby people, making people unhappy, being told what to do, cleaning, mud and getting dirty, vegetables, soap operas, being teased because she's small, judgemental people, getting in trouble, cleaning, when people keep things from her, not being able to help, drugs, alcohol, not knowing what to do, etc...
SECRETS: she has mixed feelings about her soon-to-be brother, she knows she should be supportive of her family, but is slightly jealous of having another child in the family
FEARS: disappointing her people, heights and falling, enclosed spaces, etc...
GOALS: the only real goal clary has is to please everyone around her and keep them happy
PERSONALITY: Clary's the kind of girl anyone can like. She loves meeting people, and can strike up conversation with almost anyone. She enjoys learning about people, and doesn't like leaving people out of groups, she includes everyone, to the best of her abilities. She makes a point of knowing everyone who walks the halls of her school, and knowing them well enough to be able to call them by name and greet them while passing through said halls. She's energetic, but not hyper, and she always likes to stay occupied, whether it be by talking, or doing something with her hands. She will do anything for a friend or family, or even someone who deserves something good to be done for them. She’s a very smiley person, and she loves to make other people happy, and even goes out of her way to do it. If someone’s sad or hurting, Lady is usually the first one to go and comfort them. She doesn’t like to see people hurting, and carries an aura of soft happiness and sereness around her, always a soft smile on her face and a kind word from her mouth. She is very respectful to her elders, and does her best to never get involved in things that will get her in trouble, though she sometimes gets dragged into it because people can convince her to do almost anything.
She’s sweet to the point that it gets her into trouble, as she will go along with almost anything without putting up a fight. She doesn’t have much of a will of her own, and she doesn’t like to make decisions. She takes far too long to think things through, and will often observe a situation from many different angles before making a decision. She isn’t impulsive, and doesn’t do many things just on whim. She will often get dragged into doing something reckless by the people around her, and finds herself taking the fall because she feels that it was her fault for not stopping them. She’s kind and compassionate, and never judges people on appearance or race. She doesn’t believe that anyone is better than anyone else, and doesn’t associate with people that do. She’s the shoulder that everyone cries on, proverbially of course, because she is a good listener and she’s very logical and sees for than one side of every situation or problem.
But there is also another part of Lary that she keeps bottled up. She has a monster temper, and it doesn’t take much to make her go off when she’s in a mood. She has a very low tolerance for, blatantly put, shit. She may seems like the type that won’t fight, but if someone hurts something, or someone that is important to her, Clarissa will not think twice about confronting them, as much as she hates it, and will try to avoid it at all costs. She can hold a grudge for a very long time if she feels the need to, and she will never forget a good deed done to her or someone else. She worries a little too much about everything, and she hates taking risks. She always thinks things through thoroughly, and doesn’t get to try many new things that way.
Clary's a control freak, she knows it, her family knows it, and now you do. She's afraid of not knowing what's going to happen and she doesn't like the uneasiness that comes when you're in suspense with no prediction of the future. Even with class projects she's the bossier one, but she's subtle at it, not getting into the brut of it, but calmly guiding things her way from the side. She's usually busy and keeps herself on a tight schedule, and doesn't like to break it for anything. Obsessive compulsiveness keeps her this way, and causes her to spend a lot of time cleaning and rearranging her room and her day-planner, something she would die without.
She's always been a little spoiled, just like most kids that come from a high-standing family. But she was different; she was rewarded rather than just given things. When she did something particularly well, like a new piano piece, she would get a new dress. If she was behaving well at a party, her parents would let her stay up longer. From this stemed her hard-working and determined attitude. Now, when she wants something she won't just ask for it and then make a fit when she doesn't get it, she'll be denied it, then find a way to get it herself. It's the way she works. Besides all this, Clary is actually a very caring and kind person. She watches over the people she loves and makes sure they don't get into too much trouble. She's very protective with them and will often take the fall for them when they do something wrong. She loves people in general, despite being a little insecure in large crowds.

SIBLINGS: michael frederick fitzroy somerset, earl of worcester (soon to be)

HOMETOWN: badminton, gloucestershire, england
BRIEF HISTORY: The marriage between the Lord Henry Somerset and Lady Mary, daughter of the Earl of Dartmouth, was one of convenience. The two had barely known each other prior to their engagement, but agreed to marry nevertheless for fear and respect of their parents. Oddly enough, the two grew to like each other, perhaps it wasn't love, but it was tolerable, and much easier for them to be around the other without wanting to rip their throat out. The two eventually became friends, good ones in fact, and were one of the few happy, British noble couples that hadn’t initially married for love. It wasn't long before their first daughter, Clarissa Leigh Elisabeth was born. She was a happy, healthy baby, with big wide green eyes, cute brown ringlets, and the most adorable pudgy cheeks.
Clarissa, or Lady as most people called her, grew up in Badminton House, surrounded by beauty and lush things. She was a spoiled child, usually getting her way, but her parents were quick to teach her that not everything came easily, and she only received what she wanted if she had good reason to need it, or did something to deserve it. Lady excelled in everything she did, whether it was school work, or her regular riding, ballet, and music lessons. She was a sweet, kind child, and listened to her parents and her elders without second thought. She, unlike most children of her standing, didn't adopt a condescending attitude toward others (okay, just a teeny, tiny little bit, but it's almost unnoticeable) or become a little priss. Her parents fought to keep her humble and modest, not wanting her to develop a superiority complex.
Unfortunately, the young girl wasn’t exactly gifted in intelligence, sitting at only the average, which both parents found odd, considering they were both fairly qualified in their own fields. Nonetheless, Clarissa always tried her best in everything she did, and threw herself into her studies because she knew it would please her parents to see her grow. She struggled, but ultimately did as well as she possibly could. Her grades floated around the average, sometimes barely higher, and more often than not below what the average person would have. With every test and report card that came home, she could visibly see the disappointment in her parents’ faces when she got a C or lower, and it pained her to know that she was upsetting them. Studying began to take over most of her free time, and Clary rarely had time for much else, her social life was sparse as she was growing up, though she loved people and being around them. She just couldn’t find the time for friends when she was busy trying to make her parents happy.
When the post came with a letter addressed to her, Clary was a little more than surprised. She didn’t get much mail, most things were destined to her father, and sometimes her mother. It was a very difficult concept to wrap her head around. Something about it made her suspicious, not exactly sure if she should believe what the letter was telling her, and if she should go through with the proposition and attend the school. She let her parents make the decision for her, leaving it completely in their hands, knowing that she’d never be able to reach a conclusion for herself. After checking out the school for themselves, her parents decided it would only be good for her.
To say that Clarissa was nervous about attending the school would have been an understatement, but she took the new experience with stride, completely prepared to make new friends, meet new people, and have completely different classes than those at the local school in Badminton. It would be great to see people like her, learn about them and get to know them. All at once the prospect of new surroundings was frightening and exhilarating, so much so that Clarissa found herself bouncing up and down in her seat as she was escorted to the school with her bags. To this day she isn’t quite sure if the nervous habit was out of excitement or fear.
The school was nice, better than Clary had been expecting. She fell in love with it as first sight, quickly getting into the routine and making a place for herself. She found friends, mentors, and everything she had hoped to discover in the school. Her grades still averaged out as they had before, but it was bothering her less. She continued to practice ballet, though it was a little more difficult without a set instructor. However, she did grow homesick from time to time and would begin to get impatient for vacation time or visits from her parents. During the time in-between, they wrote back and forth and called at least a few times a week.
It was in one letter that her mother couldn’t contain her excitement, and revealed to Clarissa that she was pregnant again, with a baby boy. Clary had known that her parents were thinking about having another child through artificial insemination, but hadn’t been told that they had decided to go through with it. She was angry for a while, at them for not telling her, and at the unborn child for taking up space in her parents’ hearts, but after going home for summer vacation and seeing her parents both excessively happy about the prospective new Somerset, she couldn’t help but feel just as happy, though the bit of jealousy still remained. If it made her parents happy, it made her parents happy. So Clarissa resigned to keeping her opinions to herself and awaiting the birth of the child with her parents.[/blockquote]
