What is unexplained is feared. Luckily however Portland likes the abnormal. Perhaps this is why the Department of Experimental Intelligence was positioned in Oregon. The DEI has been requisitioned to help stop any unnatural, paranormal or mysterious activity and to keep the citizens of Portland in the dark. They were charged with taking care of any threats to humanity and were doing a spectacular job. Until Burton showed up.
Burton Research Dynamics, recently risen to one of the top ten companies in the world in a matter of months, now one of the top science and applied technology companies in the world. Their main office recently opened in Portland, opening the city to a wealth of new job opportunities. Burton truly is the savior of the people. Or so they think.
The DEI is just beginning to investigate Burton Research Dynamics for possibly standing in their way, starting to get between them and the things people only think they see. The citizens of Portland? Blissfully ignorant about what's going on around them. Then again, people here ARE more open minded about things like spirits, palmistry, and cryptids. Maybe that could make all the difference.
