Cam held his hands up innocently."You're right. How could I have possibly mistaken you for a devious mastermind who will stop at nothing to do the right thing. It was silly of me, truly."As Woody attempted to toss another paper ball into the bin, Cam watched intently. When Woody missed, as Cam had guessed he would, Cam howled with laughter, holding his sides. "Oh, Woody. That has got to be the best shot made today. Probably ever. Basketball players world wide will be coming to you for tips on shooting." He quieted as Woody began to speak about 'The Beast', nodding slightly. "Well...I don't particularly think the younger students would dare tame that thing, but I think the clothes is a safe bet." Usually when people asked about the incident he would tell them it was someone else who screamed, and he and Woody had just run out to see what the matter was. If this didn't work, however, he would simply create a story on his own, sometimes adding that it was actually only Woody who had screamed and Cam, in a fit of heroic-ness, had run to his rescue. Neither were very believable, but skeptics were often silenced with one of Cam's famous smiles. "Oh don't even lie, you have a control complex to control your control complex. That's how controlling you are."
Cam sighed exasperatedly. "We are just friends, and I will never see your 'I told you so' dance, though I so long to because you happen to be a horrible dancer and would undoubtedly trip over yourself, because you, for once, are not correct!" Cam argued stubbornly. Though he was in a fit of laughter once more as Woody created the story of Cam with the math teacher. "I think you've already scarred me, just with that story. You painted a horribly accurate picture that is now engraved in my mind, so thanks for that, mate."
Cam smiled at Woody's fit over personal space, knowing that he didn't like to be too physically close to others. Not that Cam minded. He actually agreed with Woody. While physical closeness could be a great thing, often it was awkward and uncalled for. Cam gaped at Woody, a hurt expression on his face. "Someone better? Than I, Cameron James Norrington? Pish posh. Such a person does not exist." Though he knew that in many ways Jessie was more suited for a friend to Woody than he was. He and Woody were so much a like that often their personalities rubbed against one another. Jessie and Woody, however, were a perfect blend of control and crazy. Together they were unstoppable and, as mentioned before, they were like siblings. "The fact that you've thought about saying that to a girl alone makes you creepier than I, Woody. And you know, I like the name Timothy come to think of it. I bet girls think it's cuuuuuuute," he said with a grin. "Also, you shouldn't deny your feelings for me. I hear that's terribly unhealthy. Besides, keep denying your undying love for me and I just might have to hug you," Cam threatened.

Woody nodded his head appreciatively. He had been known to often jump to the rescue of a friend in need, coming up with elaborate plans that only once or twice had back fired on him. The times they had backfired on him, he had been put into detention for two weeks but he didn’t mind too much as he had done his best and freed his friends from the trouble they had been in by getting himself in even worse trouble. Most of his plans, however, involved sneaking into either Cam or Jessie’s rooms late at night to have midnight feasts or midnight chats. “Very silly of you. I would never do such a thing. I am, of course, not even a slightly devious mastermind.” He nodded his head as if this settled things and then frowned as Cam laughed hysterically at him. “Hey! No need to laugh so loudly. I can’t help it if I can’t aim!” He folded his arms and sulked as Cam started to quiet down. “I don’t know, the younger years are getting pretty feisty.”
“I do not have a control complex to control my control complex,” Woody insisted firmly, then grimaced at the turn of phrase. “That is way too many controls for one sentence. I don’t have a control complex.” He frowned, thinking it over. It was true that Woody liked to be the leader. He liked to plan things and have people follow them through. He didn’t like being replaced for anything and he did get wound up when people tried to steal his thunder. He liked being in control, sure, and yes, he didn’t like people taking control from him. Did that mean he had a problem with it? And was the fact that he had to hide it a reason why he had a control complex about the control complex? “Well...it’s not a bad thing. I just like things to be... organised when I do things.”
“You will be seeing my ‘I told you so’ dance because you are so going to be together soon. She likes you, you like her. What’s the difference?” Woody asked, then hit him with the pillow. “I am not that bad of a dancer! True, people say I sometimes dance like a puppet, but that is besides the point.” He grinned as Cam laughed over his story about the maths teacher. “You won’t be able to look at the maths teacher in the same way ever again.” He grinned at his friend. “I don’t know, I’m sure I can find someone better than you.” Woody winked at Cam’s hurt expression. “Aw, you know no one can replace you.” Woody couldn’t stop himself from laughing at Cam saying he was creepy. “Hey, it could be worse. I could say things like ‘there’s a party in my pants and your invited’. I think you’ll find that’s a lot worse.” Woody made a face at the name Timothy. “No one calls me Timothy. Only the teachers who I then glare at until they call me Woody or Tim. I hate that name!” Woody help the pillow up in front of his face. “No hugging! I admit that I have undying love for you!”

Cam smiled slightly, running a hand through his hair as he stared at a spot on the wall, spacing out slightly. He was jealous of Woody's willingness to break the rules, eve if it was for a harmless thing such as visiting a friend. Cam himself had always been one to stick to the rules, no matter how ridiculous they may be. They once did an exercise in his English class were they'd been asked to read the instructions on the paper. The first instructions all gave directions of markings that were to be made on the paper. The final instruction, however, was that the students were to make no markings on their paper. Most students cursed upon reaching the bottom for they had followed each step individually. Cam, however, had made no marks for he had read all the rules before even lifting his pencil. It was this trait of his that often lost him friends, or gained him enemies. A sudden insecure thought grasped him and he frowned slightly. "I'm not boring am I? Or a stick-in the mud?" he asked quite randomly. "I hardly do fun things, unless the rules permit them," he explained.
Cam laughed. "Well that's a fun sentence to say. 'I do not have a control complex to control my control complex'. But you kinda do. Not that it's a bad thing. You're my best friend, and I wouldn't want you any other way, but you like to have control of the situation. You like to make the plans, and I like to follow plans. Which is what makes us a perfect team," Cam said with a grin. "I'm the looks, and you're the charm," he added, laughing at his own joke. Though he knew Woody wasn't quite as handsome is he, it wasn't as though his friend wasn't good looking. He just attracted a different type of girl. While Cam's generic good looks attracted the typical outspoken girls, Woody's quirky charm and startling eyes attracted the more quiet, mysterious type. More than once a girl had asked Cam if Woody was single, though the girls never seemed to follow through with their fancies. Perhaps the mysterious ones were also the most flighty, though he found that hard to believe since some of the outspoken ones he'd dated were flightier than a flock of geese.
Cam rolled his eyes. "I doubt there will be any 'I told you so' dancing, considering the fact that Emily Swann definitely does not like me. But I'll admit, your puppet moves are pretty cool sometimes." As Woody brought up the math teacher again, Cam groaned. "Oh no! And that's one of my usually top-notch classes too. Great. Well if my father writes, asking why my grades are slipping I'm telling him it's because my good pal Timothy decided to instill a fear of the math teacher in me."
When Woody gave an example of how he could be creepier, Cam laughed. "I dunno, maybe girls like that sorta thing. You should try that line out sometime and tell me how it goes," he prompted. At Woody's face over his given name Cam sighed. "Fine, I guess I'll only use that name when I'm angry with you. I'll call you Timothy and then hug you until you apologize."

Woody frowned as Cam suddenly asked him if he was boring. It was so unexpected and so random, that Woody took a few seconds before he could respond. “You’re not boring, Cam. You’re reliable and predictable, yes, but you’re not boring. Yes, you follow the rules, but I’m sure if you really wanted to, you could break them, and you’re fun to be around. What’s suddenly brought this on?” Woody asked, looking at his friend curiously. Cam hadn’t ever asked that before and Woody was confused. He had never thought of Cam as boring in his life. Sure, he was a stickler for the rules but when he wasn’t in lessons, Cam was just as fun as any other guy. “You’re loads of fun, Cam.”
“Well yes because if I wasn’t in control of the plans then someone else would do and they wouldn’t do it right,” Woody told him, folding his across his chest. “Well, we are the perfect team, yes.” Woody smiled as his friend said that he had the charm. Woody had a way with words, able to persuade people to do what he wanted a majority of the time but it seemed like he could never put this towards getting himself a girlfriend. Sure, he had flirted with girls every so often, but it never seemed to get any further than a short kiss and a ‘see you later.’ He longed to have a real, physical girlfriend that he wouldn’t have to worry about losing. He sighed suddenly, looking over at Cam. “Cam. Do you think I’ll ever get a girlfriend? Because I don’t think I will. All the girls that talk to me go all giggly and then run off. It’s not exactly helpful.”
“There will be, you can trust me on that,” Woody insisted, then smiled as Cam complimented his dancing. “Thank you. Well, you’ll see me doing some dancing when you start dating the lovely Emily.” He laughed at his comment about his father. “Aw, well you could just tell him that the maths teacher has offered you extra tutoring because you’re falling behind.” He winked at him, laughing childishly. “I will try it on the next girl I flirt with, shall I? I doubt it will go too well.” He stuck his tongue out at Cam. “Evil child, you are Cameron.”

As Cam listened to Woody's assurances that he was just as fun as anyone, he sighed with relief. He was suddenly more grateful than ever for his friends undying loyalty. It was nice to know that when he had a problem his friend would be honest, yet supportive of him in anyway possible. As Woody asked what had brought the random question on, Cam shrugged. "The other day I was having lunch with some friends and this girl that was sitting with us suggested that we should dine and dash. Everyone was up for it, of course, except me. I told them why that would be wrong and asked how they would feel if someone cheated them out of a tip they deserved and then she told me I was just a 'boring stick in the mud'," he said with a shrug. "It hadn't really occurred to me until now that I might actually be a tad boring."
Cam laughed at Woody's explanation of his control complex and nodded in agreement. It was true, no one came up with plan's like Woody. He always thought about his actions before he actually acted. His plans covered every detail and if there were every a glitch he was quick on his feet to come up with a solution. There weren't many Cam trusted to take control of a situation other than himself, but he knew he could count on Woody to get anyone, be they friend or foe, out of a sticky situation. Cam was torn from his thoughts, however, when Woody asked about the probability of him getting a girlfriend. Cam looked surprised at the question, not used to Woody questioning himself. "Honestly, Woody, I don't know why you don't have one already. I mean you're plenty handsome, loyal, smart...I think you just talk to the wrong kinds of girls. You need someone who's on the same wavelength as you are, ya know?" Cam said. It was true, girls often giggled when speaking to Woody, though Cam had always taken this as a sign that girls found him endearing. "But there's no doubt in my mind that you're going to find the girl who takes you as the adorable, messy goof I know you as."
Cam rolled his eyes. "I will not," he mumbled under his breath. He laughed and hid his face in a pillow when Woody brought up tutoring with the math teacher. "Noooo!" he laughed, pulling the pillow down from his face to stick his tongue out at Woody in response. "I'm only evil to combat the true evil, which is you Timothy."

“Well...” Woody began, tilting his head to the side as he looked at his friend. “It is wrong to dine and dash. That much is true, and I know I wouldn’t want someone not to pay me for a job I do. So, when you think about it that was quite a sensible thing to do. I mean, yes, it’s sticking to the rules, but I know that I wouldn’t do it either.” Woody gave Cam a friendly smile. “I like you just as you are. Don’t change for anybody. If you didn’t follow all these rules, Cam, where would I be? Locked up, I expect.” He winked at his friend, giving him a good-natured smile. He knew his friend could be seen as boring from all the rules he followed and, compared to Woody’s adventurous side, he was the normal, sensible one. But he knew how fun Cam could be when Woody could convince him to join in with one of his plans as long as he didn’t get in trouble.
Woody shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know. There must be something wrong with me, clearly. I mean, take Alice, that girl that hangs around me every so often. She’s like my little fan girl and she’s all... giggly around me. What exactly is it about me that makes everyone giggle? Do I just... make them laugh by being me?” Woody asked, raising an eyebrow at him in confusion. “Well, when you see a girl that’s on my same wavelength, can you push me in her direction so I notice?” He nudged Cam as he called him an adorable, messy goof. “I don’t know whether I should feel insulted or complimented about that.” He smiled slightly though, glad that his friend had his back. Woody was getting older, bordering on becoming an adult and the fact that he had never had a proper girlfriend was starting to get to him. Sure, he had had one girlfriend before but he was barely a teenager at that time and he wasn’t that interested in girls. But now, he was and he was starting to wonder why he couldn’t get one. It wasn’t that he was vain and demanded to have one, but Cam was so popular with girls, it kind of made him wonder what was wrong with him.
“She’ll come over to you when your grades start to slip, lean on the table and be like ‘Oh Cameron, you’re grades are getting worse. I suggest you come back to my place for some... extra tutoring’. Then she’ll give you a wink and that’s it. You’ll be known no longer as Cam, the ladies man, you’ll be known as Cameron, the maths teacher’s babe,” Woody warned him, laughing at his own imagery. “I’m not evil. I’m an evil genius.” He stuck his tongue out at his friend. “So you and Emily, huh?”

Cam sighed with relief as Woody spoke. Woody was right, as always. It was wrong to dine and dash, and Cam knew that. He'd known it that night, too, but they way they had all been glaring at him was startling. Cam had never been disliked, but that's how he had felt that night. As if all they could think was, 'Wow. What a loser.' But that wasn't Cam. Not at all. Cam was always the likable, handsome, funny one. Not the loser. He was responsible, yes, but people generally liked him and the thought that someone might not unsettled him. He smiled as Woody's word's soothed him, though, grateful for a friend like Woody. As his friend brought up where he'd be without Cam, Cam laughed. "Locked up for sure. But...you're right, man. I'm just getting paranoid which is honestly the last thing I need."
As Cam listened to what Woody said, he looked thoughtful. True, girls thought that Woody was a bit goofy, but Cam was pretty sure girls liked that. "Well, I'm pretty sure that Alice girl has a little bit of a crush on you. Then again, she might be a little bit crazy. She giggles at odd things. You really should try and shake that one, Woody. And I dunno why they laugh at you....you're not even that funny," Cam teased with a laugh. "And have shoved girls in your direction! If you'll remember, that didn't go over too well considering you basically dropped the poor thing." As Woody nudged him, Cam smiled. "I meant it as a compliment," he said, and he had. Girls hardly thought he was as adorable as Woody and Cam was sure that Woody's personality was more attractive than his. As to why Woody hadn't had a girlfriend, Cam couldn't be sure. It was possibly Woody's sometimes awkward manner, but Cam supposed that it was just girls being ridiculous.
As Woody continued with the nightmare that was Cam's affair with the maths teacher, Cam furrowed his eyebrows, listening and imagining the whole thing. Finally he made a face, shaking his head. "Stop it. Stop it you cruel, cruel little boy you!" he exclaimed, covering his ears. As Woody brought up Emily again, Cam glared at him. "No. No Emily and I, because we're not an item, nor will we ever be," Cam insisted.

“I would be in jail before you could say ‘Woody’s in jail’ which would not be a good thing. You keep me from doing anything too reckless. I mean, the worst trouble I’ve got in so far was being in detention for two weeks solid,” Woody pointed, chuckling to himself before nodding his head solemnly. “I am always right, remember? You shouldn’t doubt me.” He winked at his best friend, knowing that he was at least helping to settle Cam. Cam was someone who thrived on having friendships. He liked people to like him and he always got a little funny if someone didn’t like him. He guessed that the fact he was going to be sharing with Peter now didn’t help that fact as the two boys didn’t exactly see eye to eye on things. Woody would make sure that they were never in the room alone together, that much was sure. He idly wondered whether Peter knew about Faye and him. He was pretty sure he knew they were close, but he didn’t know how much he knew.
“Alice has a major crush on me. She’s like my fan girl. She follows me around every so often and she’s really quite sweet, but she’s not girlfriend material. I mean, she’s clearly not right in the head and she spends a lot of time around Kory. That pretty much sums her up,” Woody pointed out, smiling slightly. “But it’s nice to have a fan girl.” He liked Alice, sure, but she was kind of creepy at times and she was more like a little girl than all of the friends he had. “Oh ha ha. I would really like to know what’s so funny about me.” He paused, thinking about the girl he had accidentally dropped when she was shoved into him. “That was an accident and you know I don’t do personal space invasion too well. With Jessie it’s different. She’s like my sister. I mean, metaphorically nudge them in my direction with a big sign saying ‘Go for this one!’ alright?” Woody rolled his eyes at his friend, picking up his hat and spinning it on his finger. “Eventually someone will come along, I’m sure. Just hope it’s before school’s over.”
“Hey, I’m not little! I’m only a little bit shorter than you, I’ll have you know!” Woody insisted, narrowing his eyes at his friend. “You know you want a piece of the maths teacher. Oh, don’t even get me started on the English teacher!” He grinned cheekily, enjoying winding his friend up. It was always fun for him to do and Cam knew he was always joking. “Well, you will be an item soon enough. So there will be an Emily and you. Camily!” He laughed at the couple name. “Camily!”

Cam laughed. "I guess you're right. What did you get that detention for again?" he asked. Woody was extremely lucky that he hardly ever got in trouble. And Cam knew it was probably because Cam was there to remind him of the rules. Cam was glad he could help those who obviously needed to be reminded, but he often wished he could be the one being reminded. Perhaps this year was the year for Cam to let go of his responsible side and become a little more rebellious. True, Woody had said he liked Cam just the way he was, but he would still be the same old Cam, right? He would just...follow less rules. He turned the thought over in his head, deciding maybe that would be his plan for this year. Cam laughed at Woody's assumption. "You know everything, huh? What'd I have for breakfast this morning?" Cam asked, grinning as he teased his friend.
Cam raised his eyebrows. He'd only met Alice once or twice, but they weren't friends. She was alright, very polite and fun to watch. But she was constantly getting into trouble. He had honestly never met someone so curious in his life. She was constantly asking questions, laughing at things he didn't find funny, and saying things that generally just didn't make sense. He often wondered if she were crazy. Then again, she did hang out with Kory. And he'd heard rumors that she'd dated Peter Newman, which just solidified his feelings about her. Petter Newman was a trouble maker and Cam couldn't stand him. He knew that Woody would be rooming with him this year, so he would attempt to be civil, but he'd never gotten on with Peter and doubted he ever would. "Well at least Alice is cute. Cute cancels out crazy, I'm pretty sure." As Cam recalled the one time he'd tried to give Woody a subtle hint he laughed. "Well I was giving you all kinds of signals! It's probably best you didn't go after her, though. Megan? Is that her name? I just know she's Greek. She's a feisty one though, dunno if you could handle her. I mean remember the way she flipped when you dropped her? Yeah. That was a bad match on my part." He patted Woody's shoulder. "You'll find someone. I promise."
"Actually I think we're the same height," Cam laughed. "But I am stronger than you. Which is why you should stop mentioning the stupid maths teacher! I'm going to have a chronic fear of math, thanks to you. Just the sight of numbers will make me scream, and then Emily will never like me!" Cam exclaimed. He stopped, smacking his forehead. "I mean girls. Then girls will never like me. Because, Emily and I don't have feelings for one another."

“Hm, let’s see. That time was because I had planned to spring Jessie out of house arrest. She was told she wasn’t allowed to leave her room because she had done something bad, probably because of me I expect, so I decided to get her out. Climbed up the inside of her window, climbed in through the window, was attempting to get back out the window with her and they found me half out the window. Turns out they don’t like it when you climb in through girls’ windows after midnight,” Woody told him, grinning at his friend. “Since then, I’ve been a lot more careful. I don’t want that two weeks detention again. It was the single most boring experience of my life so far.” He chuckled, shaking his head at the memory. Looking back on it, he wished that Cam would have pointed out that it was a stupid idea and it was only one night. But Woody hated being away from Jessie and he had just acted. The plan was safe, but he hadn’t bet on the teacher on duty being so good at spotting him. “You probably had toast.”
“She is cute...” Woody said slowly, biting his lip and tilting his head in thought. Alice was cute, that much was sure, but her craziness was a little too much for him. She hardly ever spoke in a language he could understand and was always saying crazy riddles that had no answers, much like Kory. She was cute. “But she’s also very crazy and as much as I like crazy people, she doesn’t quite speak English half the time.” He paused, remembering Meg. “Meg! Oh yes! Meg. Meg doesn’t like me much. I swear she’s planning to kill me, the way she keeps looking at me. Make sure you don’t let her anywhere near sharp objects when she’s near me. I don’t plan to be stabbed.” He nodded his head, tilting his hat down to cover his eyes. “Well, she better hurry up and find me because I’m getting anxious.”
“Are we now?” Woody asked, lifting his head up to meet Cam’s eyes. “I swear you’ve shot up recently. I’ve been this height for two years and I’m pretty sure you’ve gotten taller.” He sat himself up, tilting the hat back on his head. “But the hat adds height to me so that’s why I wear it.” He winked at his friend then laughed as he mentioned the maths teacher. “Aw, Cammy.” He grinned brightly as Cam said Emily wouldn’t like him. “You so like Emily! Camily!” He laughed, smiling at his friend. “Just admit it, will you!”
